Hi guys,
some time has passed since the last news here on ModDB. Some even thought we're dead.
Well, no. We are still here and working.
The thing is that we are mainly working on code-based things, like vehicle- and weapon balancing so there's not much to show yet.
Anyways, we want to use this newspost to get a bit more into detail concerning the redesign of the titanmode we are doing.
First of all it is going to be a bit more challenging than in the vanilla game as you now have to destroy the enemies anti-titan-weaponary instead of just taking it. After the destruction of the weapon the silo will get deactivated so that a new cannon can be placed. This will be done by using a handheld device, e.g the laptop on the side of the Tau'ri.
After a specific timeperiod of having the device active, the new gun will spawn and open fire and now it's up to you to defend it.
Speaking of defense. The bases around this important weaponary will be heavily guarded with many possibilites for the defenders to hold off attacks so it will be a bit harder to get to the gun and destroy it. Teamplay, especially between ground- and air-based forces will be essential for success. Like in: The Infantry has to take out the anti-air guns so that the F302s or Deathgliders can start a bombing run to quickly take down the weapon, cutting off reinforcements via Spawn.
After destroying the enemy titans shields you'll have to board it like usual but you will have to open a few doors via destroying specific objects before you can procede to essential systems like the enginecontrol, weaponcontrol, the bridge or the core.
After destroying all essential systems you have to flee like usual, the only downside is: No parachutes.
That means: You'll have to find an other way back to the ground. Alive. ;)

Well, that was a rough description of the new titan mode.
The second thing in this news is a small announcement for christmastime. An adventscalendar will be put online on our homepage at December 1st. It'll be filled with various things like screenshots or short clips from the current development, non-modrelated stuff and many other things. So if you like, you can visit us in december and look what's inside it.

i suggsest, that wraith will take a foothold in milkyway galaxy as they have realised, that they aimed too high last times while trying to directly attack earth and ignore other worlds. Wraith encounter last of goa'uld and form an alliance between wraith, goa'uld (pick a name from greek, N-africa or mid-east mythology, for example Zeus (greek father of gods, god of thunder)) and lucian alliance (if battles goa'uld-wraith, wraith-earth and earth-goa'uld cannot be done, as in game wont allow that) against humans. alliance conditions are simple: after earth (tau'ri) is defeated, 1/3 of galaxy and 1/3 of earth will be for lucian alliance, 1/3 is for wraith and 1/3 will be for goa'uld. When SGC discovers this alliance, they have to battle with 3 most horrible enemies ever seen, but they realise, that they cant do it alone: they notify the Tok'ra and rebel jaffa from worst threat, that free worlds of milkyway galaxy have faced. Alliance (wich was broken in 7th season, but they still stayed friends) is re-instated.
war for freedom, life and freedom of will has begun....
Just a suggsestion for mod, btw it looks awesome. (2)

uhm, your storyline is a little misplaced (even when only considering SGA series and completely ignoring SG1 (including film)).
you said, that factions are basically jaffa under goa'uld control, ori (in form of priors and ori warriors) and Lucian alliance. Now Ori priests were all brainwashed (or anti-brainwashed) by ark of truth in the end of "stargate: the ark of truth" film in both galaxy. Now this happened in both milkiway (with Ida galaxy (asgard home galaxy, where they invaded directly from milkyway while following Odessy in "unending")) AND ori home-galaxy. So ALL of Ori priests WERE out of the picture and returned into home galaxy. Goa'uld tried basically same trick in show (when Ba'al tried to place hes clone symbiote to Adria) and they failed: Adria still had the control and since priors were at least same strong mind.... Altough, yes goa'uld (in form of Ba'al after the end of SG1) were serious threat UNTIL season 5 of SGA. so, see the mistake? Ba'al was, btw, LAST goa'uld system lord, so yes, there was few minor goa'uld left after death of Ba'al, they didnt had recources to pull ANYTHING like this off. Altough i do admit, that it is right to bring goa'uld as faction on this mod. Lucian alliance is excellent idea (earth and Lucian alliance went into open war in last season, but no battles were shown). third enemy I would offer are the wraith (wraith werent defeated in SGA). Yeah, the Priors were all brainwashed, but not their followers. Like in every "religious" grouping (even among the Jaffa) there are always fanatics, who would still be fighting for their Gods, knowing that no one else believes in them or they're even considered dead.
To the thing with the Prior. You need a strong mind to resist a Goa'uld, yes. Adria had that since she was in the most advanced state a human could be before ascention but do you think a Prior who technically lost everything he believed in would still have enough spiritual strength to resist even a minor goa'uld if took by suprise? Well, we do not.
So in the end we have a Prior who was too weak to resist the takeover of a Goa'uld, the Goa'uld's loyal Jaffa and their allies, the Lucian Alliance (which, after all isn't that unrealistic, considering the fact, that they might not know that the Prior, is a Goa'uld after all).
The point of bringing in the Ori or at least their technology is to even out the odds.
A BC304 could easily take out several "normal" Hataks used by the Lucians or minor Goa'uld, thanks to it's asgardbeams if it wasn't took by suprise (like in Ep01S01 of SGU)... so we had to think about something which would make it a bit more equal and ended on the thing with the Prior who became a Host to a yet unknown Goa'uld (as all the others are dead).
And we tought about bringing in the Wraith but as the Game gives us to little possibility to do it in a way it would be "realistic" (e.g. in gameplay) we decided not to do so.
(That's btw why the Mod is called "Revenge of the Fallen", for all those who still think of Transformers...)

hmm but the problem is with a prior, they know only how to make an orai ship, and as I recall those things were turned to shreds by those asgaurd plasma beam weapons. The only thing capable of having better offensive technology than the asgaurd are the Lantians. And true the orai are the former Lantians, but they had taken the spiritual side, and the others the technological and later on ascension side. But the lantians were technological superior to everyone. So maybe you could replace the proir with a renegade ancient or something. That would increase the realism.

Well, as said a few times before (hm... maybe it's time for a little FAQ-Video ^^), maybe.
We don't know how good botsupport will work out on these Spacemaps, as the AI practically can't spawn anywhere.
If we can spawn them directly into vehicles it might be possible, but that's something we'll try out closer to the Release, for now we have to get the last few space vehicles ingame and even out the odds before we can move on to the ground battles and things like Bot-Support.
