Hi guys,
some time has passed since the last news here on ModDB. Some even thought we're dead.
Well, no. We are still here and working.
The thing is that we are mainly working on code-based things, like vehicle- and weapon balancing so there's not much to show yet.
Anyways, we want to use this newspost to get a bit more into detail concerning the redesign of the titanmode we are doing.
First of all it is going to be a bit more challenging than in the vanilla game as you now have to destroy the enemies anti-titan-weaponary instead of just taking it. After the destruction of the weapon the silo will get deactivated so that a new cannon can be placed. This will be done by using a handheld device, e.g the laptop on the side of the Tau'ri.
After a specific timeperiod of having the device active, the new gun will spawn and open fire and now it's up to you to defend it.
Speaking of defense. The bases around this important weaponary will be heavily guarded with many possibilites for the defenders to hold off attacks so it will be a bit harder to get to the gun and destroy it. Teamplay, especially between ground- and air-based forces will be essential for success. Like in: The Infantry has to take out the anti-air guns so that the F302s or Deathgliders can start a bombing run to quickly take down the weapon, cutting off reinforcements via Spawn.
After destroying the enemy titans shields you'll have to board it like usual but you will have to open a few doors via destroying specific objects before you can procede to essential systems like the enginecontrol, weaponcontrol, the bridge or the core.
After destroying all essential systems you have to flee like usual, the only downside is: No parachutes.
That means: You'll have to find an other way back to the ground. Alive. ;)

Well, that was a rough description of the new titan mode.
The second thing in this news is a small announcement for christmastime. An adventscalendar will be put online on our homepage at December 1st. It'll be filled with various things like screenshots or short clips from the current development, non-modrelated stuff and many other things. So if you like, you can visit us in december and look what's inside it.

Nice work fella

I know when I built and coded up our Jumper I looked in to that but it went over my head so I have done it a different way.

Also managed to get working weapons pods and the rear door to work.

Are you having it so people can sit in the rear of the Jumper aswell or just having the 4 seats up front?

Cant wait for this to be released... the re-textures are completely awesome and I really love the space mode and ground mode aswell.

However, one question, will there be other player models for the Alliance?

New Solider-Models are planned, but for the moment we concentrate on completing the space mode. I think you all waited long enough for a release. ;)

I saw a battlefield 1942 mod a while back which had hitak and an X 303 which you could bored and commit acts of sabotage. They didn't move but the fact that each ship actually had it's own interior with a bridge made it interesting. So I'm asking, does this mod have something even remotely similar? i haven't seen many interior shots of ships, if at all. I do gotta admit that throwing a grenade onto a fully staffed bridge, while cheap, is defiantly a good way to temporarily take it out of the fight

If remembered correctly BF1942 had a secret weapons mod or something. That included a Ratte map. A ratte was a German concept, it was a enormous tank that had 2 380 mm cannons instead of 1 88 mm. Anyhow you could blow up some entrances in the tank and go to the weapons arsenal and you could damage the tank from that place with a grenade launcher. And the tank could be entered and driven like a normal tank, it could even shoot:P (those guns would have destroyed a village with only one shot, but who cares about that;))

Yes you be able to board the static version of the ships ^^ However the ones you see in the Christmass video are the "Vehicle" version, those are pilotable closed down ships. Simply players would be squesed to death if you could walk inside freely while the ship takes a turn at 700km speed.

it's a shame you can't find away for there to have the people able to freely move throughout the ship while flying.. it's what i liked most about BF1942.. acts of sabotage was a good way to build points... some tnt in the higgens boats and boom.. you have a good time. I'd also like to note that you wouldn't have to have static versions, Titan replacements could be added. As we all know titans can move over land battlefields. And don't worry, for the sake of gameplay people won't be upset that it moves at such a slow speed

Our team has been working on the battleship-interiors for some time now, I'm looking forward to the results. :)
So that's a definite "yes, you can board the ships and blow 'em up". :3
