Some time ago we dropped RVE 1.2 as the next version number and changed it to 2.0, the reason being was we didn't want people thinking RVE 1.2 was just a update of 1.1, when its so much more so that's the reason behind the version number change, I was also calling it 1.2 from force of habit but no more .


I thought i would post up in the news feed what the current progress with the mod and what we are working on at this point in time plus some info about RVE 2.0.

Mod Progress

There is currently only two members of RVE team, me and Avtius_12, We did have some helpers at some point but they have moved on so please understand the amount of time needed to do a overhaul of a game when its just two people working on it.

Mod Progress is slow at the moment as the Research Tree layout are holding use but i have been working on other parts of the mod but to start bug/balance testing we need the tree up and running in the mod.

We are holding off adding new units to the mod until we have balanced the units already in the mod adding more units just pushing the mod back even more from a Public release.

Research Tool

We didn't hit our donation goal for the research tree editor, So we had to use funds for the mod manager that we had put aside but as the research tree editor as it was a higher priority.

Mod Manager

Fundraising has started for a new mod manager to be made, lets see if we can hit the goal so this happens, the new mod manager will bring in Multi-Language support for users running non English version of windows, new features like setting the unit cap and other game options along with side mods, this manager will also have a Hash number so you can check if your running the same mods as a friend!

UPDATE 23-03-15
Thanks to every one that donated, it really did show the support for SC2 and RVE , As the mod manager will be programmed on the behalf of RVE it will not be limited to just RVE, any mods can support it as long as the mod creators make there mod to do so.

Programming for the new mod manager is booked in , The programmer that made the research tree tool will be programming it, we are just waiting for his to finish up a current job.

Would be nice if you guys can make a UEF Experimental Strafe-Runner that looks like a big futuristic warthog A.K.A. The A10-Thunderbolt.

Basically it acts like an ahwassa but it shoots barrages of missiles/bombs/ and its mini-gun. Then it loops back like an ahwassa and does it again like a carpet bomber. I unfortunately saw lack of focus on UEF Air exps so I just want to bring out an idea :)

i think i have heard enough talk about ahwassa likes if anything the uef should get a sick gun ship with a heavy Gatling gun in front but not a fly by type fires in bursts and can tear up the land scape

That's the only AIR XP i have not seen of yet.
Frankly,it's about time they made one to fight the Cybran Soul Ripper.

Well technically EXP Fighter/Bomber But yah. Havent Seen A Good plane that would shoot barrages of missiles and minigun fire each strafe run (warthog) and it is also a fighter which there is no EXP Fighter ever in the history of supcom there for you are screwed when that soul raper mk3 comes to your base

So The Lack Of Focus On EXP Air Units in The UEF Category Makes The UEF Supremely Inferior To The Cybran Class And Aeon Class.

the UEF had and will continue to have TONS of air support, sometimes better than all factions, so I don't see your point... The lack of an air fighter experimental doesn't lower the fact that the UEF still has the best fighters (as normal units), and for the soul ripper, you have plenty of options...from anti air ground units, to T3 Air superiority fighters, to the "AirCleaner" ship vessel....

Geminis are actually the most powerful fighter in the game for some reason when fully upgraded. renegades are also the most powerful gunship and the weedoboth is the most powerful bomber.

Well,in the history of SC, UEF XP were always lacking.....which is why i support more vehicle XP for them.

Playing these old war sims,made me realise,"Why does the UEF not have such and such vehicle concepts yet when they are so advanced now?"

But for Aeon,if it was the old Czar which could fight a Soul Ripper 1v1 ,yes,the UEF are screwed.
Instead all they get are dumbed down toys now.

Talking about the alpha. How buggy will it be? By asking this I'm wondering how much the team itself have bug-checked units and other features of the mod. Or is that down to the public to complete?

The alpha will go though so testing before it gets released but like any mod there may be some small bugs like animations speeds and weapon configurations but there wont be any huge game crashing bugs as i run AI tests every month or two.
