42 Year have past. Long enough for the world to heal. Long enough to forget the horrors of the war that almost claimed not only our lives, but that of our entire world. From the east came the Empire, their mecha and weapons soon overwhelmed the defenders of the Allied Kingdoms but, they were beaten.
Three warrior from the Kingdom Domen stood against the tide of chaos when no one else could. Wielding the powers of the eight great elements of mana, the heroes beat back the empire. However, the aftermath of what we today call the Second Imperial War was high indeed. The Empire lies in ruins, the allied kingdoms threaten to break apart from within, and Mana, the source of all magic, has vanished.
42 years have past, to the east the Empire stirs, the forests of Domen have turned dangerous, fought with monsters and bandits. Now a new generation takes to the defense of the world for now is the time for the Return to Mana.

Secret of Mana is a Half-Life² Modification in which we are recreating one of the most glorious SNES games:
"Seiken Densetsu2", and as we know it, "Secret of Mana".
The mod will feature a whole world the player can interact with and level up in. And in addition to that we are planing to add coop gameplay as well. Im Dieblein, leader of the mod, and Im currently working on the player models. We have a decent team now and the story is nearly done.
Perhaps you know me of the Half-Life1 Singleplayer mod "Escape from the darkness". I add this in order to make clear that we are very dedicated in what we are doing.
Here some shots of what has already been done. Visit our mod profile or homepage in order to find out more!

If this treatment keeps on.. this treatment of deleting our news, putting rumors about us, if this treatment keeps on we are getting the hell out of here! I can promise you @moddb!
I heard a few rumors that our ingameshots are not real, a setup scene in 3ds max and so on - that the source engine can't handle such enormous detail...
they are ingame - no fake's, no staged 3dsmax renders, 100% pure source engine, running at full speed.
we have gone for this type of trees as they perfectly fit in our overal style, apart from that - thanx for the compliment
its a shame to see that source handles foliage that bad, there are 4 year old games with beter looking trees and stuff hehe, i wish valve could've taken that in consideration, anyway apart from that the map looks fantastic, its has that fantasy and magical feel to it, just lkike in SOM, and dont get me worng, your trees looks 100.000 times better then those in hl2, i just spected more from source, kinda wanted to wander through great beautifull forests, but after playing hl2 i realised that was not going to happen, anyway this mod will still be kickass, keep up the good work.
the maps are really awesome.. i'm still trying to figure out how u did all that by hammer.
