42 Year have past. Long enough for the world to heal. Long enough to forget the horrors of the war that almost claimed not only our lives, but that of our entire world. From the east came the Empire, their mecha and weapons soon overwhelmed the defenders of the Allied Kingdoms but, they were beaten.
Three warrior from the Kingdom Domen stood against the tide of chaos when no one else could. Wielding the powers of the eight great elements of mana, the heroes beat back the empire. However, the aftermath of what we today call the Second Imperial War was high indeed. The Empire lies in ruins, the allied kingdoms threaten to break apart from within, and Mana, the source of all magic, has vanished.
42 years have past, to the east the Empire stirs, the forests of Domen have turned dangerous, fought with monsters and bandits. Now a new generation takes to the defense of the world for now is the time for the Return to Mana.

Secret of Mana is a Half-Life² Modification in which we are recreating one of the most glorious SNES games:
"Seiken Densetsu2", and as we know it, "Secret of Mana".
The mod will feature a whole world the player can interact with and level up in. And in addition to that we are planing to add coop gameplay as well. Im Dieblein, leader of the mod, and Im currently working on the player models. We have a decent team now and the story is nearly done.
Perhaps you know me of the Half-Life1 Singleplayer mod "Escape from the darkness". I add this in order to make clear that we are very dedicated in what we are doing.
Here some shots of what has already been done. Visit our mod profile or homepage in order to find out more!

My guess with weapons would be the ones based on the games - and off the top of my head the weapons to select from were:
Sword, Axe, Spear, Bow + Arrow, Boomerang, Knuckles, Whip, Javeline, Staff, Flail, Daggers, Hammer.
I've only played Seiken Densetsu 2 and 3 (Secret of Mana 1 + 2 for SNES) and Legend of Mana, so that's what I am basing that list off of.
Looks sweet. But, what about the weapons? What kind of weapons (melee weapons) will you be including?
WOW!! I want to play it!!!!!
Sounds good.. I cant wait tell it comes out or beta comes out :D... Keep up the good work guys....
Basically it is a 3-player co-op. That IMO is a perfect way of doing it for this type of game. Reminds me of System Shock 2 (max was 4)
Keep up the good work! (My Wallpaper is Potos WIP 8 ;D)
The one hosting the game will store the information about all the characters and if you stop playing, he will have to rehost the next game you will join. If you join the game, you will always have to adopt the current game state of the hoster.
Imagine it like playing a Singleplayer game. The current game state will be saved and can be loaded once you recreate the game. The only difference is that players can connect to this gamestate and exchange the AI controled friends (to give a total amount of 3 players at the same time)
How will the multi-player mode work? I understood that it is co-operative for up to three players but will it works as in Diablo II, where you have an account with a character that you can log in and train, or will it just be one for each time you play online?
no - the house is done in hammer...
static props modeled in max are things like the trees, baskets, bushes, etc...
oh so you made that house in Gmax. i cant believe i didnt think of that when i asked the question.
We us hammer (worldcraft) and static props modeled in Gmax (Max)
