The goal of Resistance and Liberation is to realistically portray the events and actions taken by the 82nd Airborne during their stay in Normandy. Our initial release will follow the regiments through a campaign that mimics that followed by the men themselves. The campaign will begin with players dropping into Normandy in the early hours of June 6th, with the ultimate objective of capturing the town of Sainte-Mere-Eglise. From there subsiquent maps will include missions based on other key areas after the D-Day.

It is time
to bring back an old segment that we haven't seen for awhile. We will be starting out this RTTF by getting the public familiar with our new developers. Two of these guys were introduced on the 1st of March, but here is more information on their assignments as well as an introduction for another new developer.

Danny "Prox" Negus
- Modeler will be, as you can guess, modeling props. He will be making some needed props for the release. Once those are finished, he will be working on other props to accentuate the environment. He will also be working on the G43 UVW to get it ready to be textured.

Felix "Medic" Rauhut - Level Designer is the guy that made rnl_battleofcarentan. It was because of this map that he was picked up by the RnL Dev Team. His first assignment is to get used to mapping for the Orange Box by converting his map to Orange Box.

Micheal "Hezus" Jansen - Level Designer was been working a custom map called rnl_vire. He applied to the team a while back and has been accepted. He is now converting rnl_vire over to an Orange Box map to get used to its new features as well.

Please remember
that the RnL Team is still looking for help. If you would like to dedicate some time to help this mod grow and you know animating, texturing, or programming then please click here. Also, if you have any other skills that you believe could help us out in any way, please let us know via PM on the forums or through the link above.

Eero
has made some great looking artwork yet again! Lately, he has been working on a lot of the in game visuals. There are a load of great ideas coming from him that are being utilized for things like the team selection screen. In fact, here is one of his mock-ups.

Stefan
has something he would like to show off as well. He has nearly finished texturing his locomotive. We have had several RTTF updates along with several Twitter posts showing his progress on it over the past couple months. Though you may not get a chance to see it in action on the Alpha 4 ported maps, it does go to show you the amount of work and dedication that goes into everything the team makes.

Now for the RTTF Q and A's.

1. How will the G43 be implemented into the game? Will it be assigned to a specific class?

As mentioned in a previous RTTF, weapons and classes are moving towards the hands of the mapper. This means that the G43 will be assigned to whomever the mapper wants. In official maps, the G43 will be given to German radiomen/engineers.

2. Will you be able to see what weapons the other team is using?

There is a command that has been added to enable or disable your ability to view the other team's weapon assignments on the scoreboard. It is up to the server host to set that command.

3. How will the radioman work?

I'm sorry, but that is currently being kept secret.

That is all
we have to show you for this mid-month RTTF. If you have any questions for the next RTTF, please pm them to the Public Relations Team(Eric Murphy or BJ Hunnicutt) so that they can be included next month. Stick around for the update on April 1st!

Great modelling and artwork, love the textures.

The fonts for the "Choose Your Team" mockup look really clean and modern, like something from a modern graphic mag or website. Just curious (can't help myself), but what's the reason for this?

Eero opted for a style that looked good and clean, rather than the cliche hand written script and old paper because it looks, well, good and clean!

Cool fair enough. I'm asking because I'm wondering what "good and clean" has to do with a World War 2 shooter?

I'm not too keen on that team selection UI, while finished well, it's severely lacking in any real layout structure. It feels really weird to look at like the lower elements are trying to drag their siblings inward, in the process destroying any emphasis on the main focus of the dialog.
