Umbrella Incorporated began with the help of James Marcus, Edward Ashford, and Ozwell Spencer. It centered around a “Mother Virus” which was eventually refined by James Marcus into something called “Progenitor”. Using the DNA of leeches James Marcus further refined Progenitor into the “T-Virus” with the “T” standing for “Tyrant”. The T-Virus caused extreme mutations in any organism infected. In humans specifically, they went through a coma that resembled death before “reawakening” as zombie like creatures that could only be fully stopped if riddled by bullets or beheaded. Massive research began on this version of the virus. A research training facility for new Umbrella researchers was formed along with a laboratory for their more important research aspirations in the forests of the Arkley Mountains that surrounded the, at the time, small community of Raccoon.
On top of the laboratory, which was built underground, they fashioned a mansion for the researchers to live so that they could constantly be by their work as well as to keep them isolated from any outside influences that might not like the idea of biological weaponry research outside their town.
Umbrella feared that these same influences would hinder their research (particularly those of the small town elected officials) and began pumping money into the town building it up and attracting other big business ventures. Money was also beginning to be funneled into the pockets of many of these officials to help keep Umbrella’s interests safe in the growing city.
To keep their facilities hidden, the architect and his family of the Spencer Estate (The Researcher Mansion) were invited to stay at there for a few days by Spencer himself. Over the next couple of days, his family was kidnapped and the architect was forced to hide in the hidden tunnels he had been contracted to build. His daughter was taken into the labs and was experimented on with several multiple infectious diseases until they found that she simply wasn’t dieing. This included not only the T-Virus but also other fatal viruses like Ebola. Apparently the T-Virus had allowed her to live through the destruction of her body by all the other viruses and the multiple viruses in her system came together in one massive solution. This was extracted and dubbed the “G-Virus”. Unfortunately, it was even more unstable then the T-Virus and caused seemingly never ending mutations in the subjects.
It came to their attention that they’d need a new method of disposing of their failures. One of the mid-level researchers that had seen the extraction of the G-Virus and had conducted several of the initial experiments on it was promoted to head this new facility that was being built outside the general area of the Researcher Training Facility and the Laboratory. This man’s name was Dr. Thomas Went.
Sorry for such a late post, but we figured better late than never so here we go. We have a few new things, so I'll start with the biggest one:
Our mod has been released! For those who missed our irc party last wednesday check the files section of the site to grab yourself a copy.
All of us at Oraculus Studios would like to thank the fans who support the mod. You guys give us the motivation and ideas to keep us going and make this a really fun project. We'll continue to work on our alpha build until we deem it ready for Beta and we're going to be trying some new ideas as well as tweak others.
Second, I'll introduce the new team members:
Enix- Enix is our new object modeler and boy can he do some models. You can find a picture of all his work so far in our mod database gallery.
Rayne- Rayne is our new coder. M0rra7h is showing him the ropes and now we have a bit more help in our coding department. This will speed things up on the coding side.
Also, the gallery is updated with a picture of iNDIANA's health meter, which really gives off the Resident Evil feel.
Lastly, we have a few new forum sections opened for bugs and suggestions for the mod, so feel free to post there if you have any ideas!
