Republic at War is a total conversion modification for Star Wars Empire at War Forces of Corruption. The mod replaces the Empire with the Galactic Republic and the Rebel Alliance with the Confederacy. Republic at War focuses heavily on the theatrical films but also contains content from the Clone Wars cartoon series as well as the expanded universe. Players can re-enact various Clone War campaigns such as the Outer Rim Sieges. Players will have the choice to fight as either the CIS or the Republic and wage war for control of the galaxy. Realism is key and players will have unprecedented control over how and where they fight. Push forward with an entire clone legion such as the 501st or 212th or overwhelm your opponent with a seemingly endless number of B1 battledroids. The choice is yours. There are also a number of expansions planned that will add new (as well as polish existing) content.
From what I've seen from the manual, screenshots, and videos, and also judging from the comments of the beta testers, I can conclude that this will probably be the best Star Wars Empire at War mod ever. Models are detailed and impressive, system requirements are not too high, galactic conquest is massive, and the AI are actually challenging. The amount of work put into this is astounding, and even more so is the fact that it was only one man working on the mod for a great deal of time. Z3r0x deserves quite a bit of recognition for that. All in all, this mod is an incredible feat, and although it took five years (?), I am very confident that the mod will be released today, and I can't wait for it to be released. And I am sure that AT LEAST 1,000 people will agree with me. Good day!
The range and variety of this mod is like no other. There may only be 2 playable factions, however, the sheer mass of different units, planets, heroes and tactics will keep you entertained for months on end. The quality of this mod (with the exception of some minor bugs) are of game developer quality.
