Republic at War is a total conversion modification for Star Wars Empire at War Forces of Corruption. The mod replaces the Empire with the Galactic Republic and the Rebel Alliance with the Confederacy. Republic at War focuses heavily on the theatrical films but also contains content from the Clone Wars cartoon series as well as the expanded universe. Players can re-enact various Clone War campaigns such as the Outer Rim Sieges. Players will have the choice to fight as either the CIS or the Republic and wage war for control of the galaxy. Realism is key and players will have unprecedented control over how and where they fight. Push forward with an entire clone legion such as the 501st or 212th or overwhelm your opponent with a seemingly endless number of B1 battledroids. The choice is yours. There are also a number of expansions planned that will add new (as well as polish existing) content.

Current Project Status

After a much needed (extended) hiatus, the team has agreed that it's time to put a focus on wrapping up this interminable chapter of Republic at War's development.

The team is poised to wrap up the remaining v1.2 development components and is working hard to achieve that goal.

Pelta-class Frigate

Over the past three years, the team has gone through a number of changes that have had a significant impact on our development timelines. To clarify, these changes will not affect the end product. We do appreciate your concerns and take them seriously.

CIS AA Turret

To accompany these changes, we will also be making adjustments to the way we do development with the goal of better transparency, more community involvement, and faster development. We'll be announcing full details on these changes later this year.

Our internal task list is currently down to fewer than 100 items, much of which is polish & cleanup. This includes a number of additions to the original scope that we decided were important to include in this release.

We're on the home stretch -- thanks for bearing with us.

The AI is WAY to hard within 30 minutes of tech level 1 gameplay they have 4 fleets of 30 starting ships (idk what they are called) And i am still saving money to make 5....They are overpowered!

FYI, if you ever re-buy the game, get the Steam version, as the GOG version, apparently, isn't compatible with most mods.
Don't ask me why, I don't own the GOG version of EaW, though I've never had any problems with other games from them.
Just a bit of advice.

also just lay down basic ground defenses first. make sure you have of the basic unit. (Clone platoon if R and battledroids if CIS) then on core worlds lay down light vehicle factories. make sure you have at least 5 mining facilities, and 3 farms. Also have at least 5 refineries. You should have a steady income of at least 10K. Build from there

im with you my AI is probably glitched and in forces of corruption the frequency of attacks is low but in this its high like you get ten attacks in the first 15 minutes its really unfair and in skirmish they attack you quite late but they have quite powerful units we need this fixed

I think the Republic is overpowered in Space combat. I was laying the Clone Wars GC on medium, on day 55, they attacked Mintooine with 17 Victories, 40 Venators and Imperial Class Star Destroyer. I had 2 Bulwarks, Luchrehulks, Grievous's Invisible Hand, 15 Hammer pickets, and 30 tri fighters, a lvl 5 station, an anti-orbital cis cannon, and the Malevolence. I defeated well over half the Republic force and lost only a few hammer pickets and some tri fighters, and all my capital ships still had their shields up. But hey: I had to save as it was too late at night to continue. But then IT CRASHED, as did most of my more recent saves on tha GC. I didn't have as much of a crashing problem last year, but this is getting out of hand. Despite me having all the core worlds except coruscant, Kuat, Rendiili, and Duro. It makes me have to start entire GC's over again, it's so damn stupid.

The AI's one of the best things about this mod! Once you get used to it, and figure out their patterns, it's actually quite balanced.

As the Republic, you need to prioritise the economy first, then set up good defences, the Republic has a huge ground advantage over the CIS(also build the orbital defence cannons which are costly, but very OP and can hold off an entire capital CIS fleet on their own).
Then focus on getting to tech 5 so in space you'll be on an even playing field, the Republic intentionally has space inferiority at the start.
Nothing needs to be "fixed", the AI is more beatable, just not easily beatable like vanilla.

well then thanks for the tips but on my ground i focus on mining but they only build light vehicles and droidekas which somehow overpower my forces and the amount of droidekas in one unit is loads im also guessing the problem is that i NEVER play as CIS for some reason

Zupanicarr Apr 11 2015, 12:36pm replied:

I never play as CIS either, but at the start, as Republic, you need to focus on the economy.
Build mines, and especially refineries wherever you can.
Next focus on building infantry and light vehicle factories in your most important locations, then slowly build out your defences everywhere else.
Use the venators you get at the start wisely, you wont be getting more till tech 4, but once you get to tech 4, build them like there's no tomorrow('cause there likely wont be unless you do), you should by that point have the economy to do so.
I'm not saying you should wait until tech 4 to be on the offensive, however, take the enemy wherever you can, and try to hold on to your core worlds and any really important outer rim worlds, Tattooine, Kamino, Bespin, Mon Cal, and a few others I forgot.
(I'd list Rothana as it's very strategically valuable once leveled up, but even I, who usually plays on hard and holds his own, cannot seem to hold Rothana long enough to upgrade her to space station 5 and full ground mines all at once)
As for the attack; I usually go for Selucamai first, on the chance that it's strategic effect is what is says it is(it's not always). Next is Foerost and Mechis, one of them or both(can't remember) can produce capital ships, take them before the AI is able to use them!

I can't really think of anymore tips at the moment, in my defence I literally just got up, but if you have any questions just ask.
EDIT: And always remember, Republic infantry is super effective!

Looks really polished Z3r0x. I must say though, you've caught alot of flak today, and the fact that you kept your cool would make me give you a 10/10 in itself. Nice work.
