Republic at War is a total conversion modification for Star Wars Empire at War Forces of Corruption. The mod replaces the Empire with the Galactic Republic and the Rebel Alliance with the Confederacy. Republic at War focuses heavily on the theatrical films but also contains content from the Clone Wars cartoon series as well as the expanded universe. Players can re-enact various Clone War campaigns such as the Outer Rim Sieges. Players will have the choice to fight as either the CIS or the Republic and wage war for control of the galaxy. Realism is key and players will have unprecedented control over how and where they fight. Push forward with an entire clone legion such as the 501st or 212th or overwhelm your opponent with a seemingly endless number of B1 battledroids. The choice is yours. There are also a number of expansions planned that will add new (as well as polish existing) content.

Version 1.1 has been a smashing success and we thank all of our fans. We are listening to your ideas and suggestions and have much more coming to you. Version 1.2 is being worked on as we speak. Many fans have located various minor issues with the mod. We are pleased that the majority of the located issues are mainly spelling and grammatical issues. All of these including any glitches will be fixed and patched for 1.2. We will be tweaking the Easy AI a tad for 1.2. Just a tad. We will be adding in a ton of content some at the fans request. As you can see from the images we have been posting this is just a sneak peek at the content to come. So whats in store for 1.2 that is new? We have 1 new map in the works and 2 new planets. 1 new skirmish map, 2 new structures and 22 new units. Of that 22, 5 are heroes, 12 are land units and 5 are space units.

We have heard your requests regarding certain units and are making some adjustments accordingly. We will also be making some balance adjustments to prevent some players from exploiting certain things. Some units will be moved to new build locations and of course we have some new graphical enhancements being produced also. 1.2 will come as a addon with a self-installer OR as the full mod for people who do not yet have 1.1. Based on fan suggestions we are also adding in some new GCs. They will be called "Siege", "Scramble" and "Direct Assault".

Scramble will be a full galaxy with only each player starting with 2 planets. So that should be exciting.

Now onto some fun stuff. Some of you have located easter eggs already. There are 10 total. The first person to locate 8 of the ten will be able to pick a unit or planet or map of their choice to be in the next add-on. (within reason- no death stars or non era specfic units and no units that have no purpose such as the AT-OT. We do reserve the right to reject the unit if we feel we have to.)

So start searching. Some eggs are text based some are objects. Some have NO business on any SW map ever. We need what the egg is and where it is. Screens would be best. First person to get to 8 will win. However if someone else gets all 10 within the same time frame the person who located all of them will be declared the winner. Have fun, keep it clean and NO cheating.

!! Those of you who are having issues. Please do NOT attempt to mod the files yourselves. Already we are getting PM's from people who have tried this and it has causes issues from crashes, to other instability issues. Do not download any "un-official" patches from other members. If you wish to do this. That is your choice. Do not post how-to do it here and do not link to downloads here as this causes more problems for our staff. We do NOT support anyone modding our files or changing them.

Scramble will be something i will be VERY looking forward to!
Would be so awesome to start on just planet, and slowly make your way to planet to planet!

Where will the republic start? coruscant? But where the cis! could be difficult one to choose. I think geonisis might be good for this

Republic will probably have coruscant, the trade fed ending up at gen, would be kinda weird because its not the homeworld of the trade fed its just the planet where they got their butt kicked.

It was the planet where all trade federation, and later CIS, battle droids were constructed. It's as good a planet as any, particularly since more people would recognize it than Cat Nemoidia, which is the Trade Fed homeworld. Besides, for all we know, Coruscant wasn't the homeworld of the Republic, despite it being the capital for all known storylines.

you should improve the AI a bit , it is hard but very unrealistical , and on skirmish it is very stupid , it doesn't build capital ships till very lately in the battle even on hard i beat them with ease , i think the vanilla AI was harder on hard difficulty than this .

They build too many cap ships when I play. They spam my planets with Lucrehulks, Providences, Venators, and hoards of fighters! Too hard if you ask me...

The AI that i play against is very agressive, capital ships about 5-10 mins into skirmish, and they freakin kill me every time on ground skirmish. They seem unorganized though, they seem to go everywhere on the battlefield and sometimes just completely pass an enemy unit without even attacking it.

I had a different issue. When I play as the Republic, the CIS spam me with Lucrehulks and Droid Carriers, and then they build tons of Providence-class Carriers and spam the Launch Fighter ability. Gets a bit annoying when I've just dropped 6 Venators out of hyperspace, only for them to be spammed by heaps and heaps of bombers and capital ships...

Same problem here. Later in the campaign, the AI ends up attacking me so often that I can't move across the galaxy map and issue more than one order before I have to fight a sequence of battles. And this is on easy, mind you.

I have the same problem on easy as well. I can play as CIS and establish a good offense and defense, but as Republic the CIS own me with hoards of CAP ships and fighters.

Try using groups of two jedi on commando raids, and take the CIS planets out from under them. Use the extra credits to build Venators, and just about nothing else. Used right, one Venator can easily beat a pair of Providences or a Lucrehulk. Use the ARC-170s to bomb the shields on the enemy ships, then their hangars. (Lock the S-Foils on the 170s, first.)

Yay Scramble my fav. The campaign is a little hard sometimes cause you need to defend al your planets without having something and it take a so low to go to the other side. With scramble you can build your empire planet by planet building op your economy your troops etc all within your plans, not having to defend useless planets.
Hurray for z3r0x!

**** yeah i love Scramble, can't wait. I am sick and tired of Republic sending 50+ ships with every attack, which is every 2-3 minutes lol, there is no way i can get my next fleet ready for defence. Btw its little unfair about the easter eggs, beta testers probably finished GC like 10 times over and they must know them all :(. Anyway keep up the epic work.

I hope 1.2 fixes some minor issues as my game tends to crash randomly whenever its loading a battle or I click 'begin' to start a battle!
Also, the autosave game dissapears every now and then and so did my orriginal save game of my GC

I have no idea where else to point out this issue then that I'm a member of this site and I now people read this.

Z3r0x, I hope you can fix this for me as it is quite annoying to start evey game over.
The issue is just a plain CTD when loading or entering a battle in GC (has occured in GC only so far, no specific planet or type of battle) Guess thats all you need to know ;)

Oh and, I'd love to play Scramble. Same GC type was included in your Foc Addon and I loved it :D

Crashes are caused by a not properly patched base game or bad install. Visit EEAW or read the new Install/Troubleshooting docs as it addresses all of this.

Reply Good karma+4 votes
Cropto7
Cropto7 - - 82 comments

I see (read the troubleshooting guide)
Never thought the problem would be related to that though as I already had to re-install both Foc and RaW Because the manual wasn't very clear about how to install RaW in the first place (Where that mod folder actually goes and if I had to install RaW, using the installer, in the C:Prog\LucA\Foc\Mod folder or the Data folder)

Game wouldn't start after trying and I had to re-install FoC.
After I had done that, I installed RaW the right way and the game would run. But now the CTD's appear after, but not when it was planned as a solution, re-installing FoC!

So the re-installing has already occured though not as a solution for the CTD's and now the CTD's happen.
If you know another solution then I'd like to try it. Though for now I shall re-install FoC again to see if the problem is fixed ;)

I have just one question before I install RaW again (already re-installed FoC)
The Installation Guide has one little error in it that confuses me, which is this:

''2) Installing Republic at War
e. Select the destination folder. Only change this if you did not go with the automatic installation of Empire at War or if you are playing via Steam. Steam users should select their Empire at War steam folder (eg. ..\Steam\steamapps\common\Star Wars Empire at War\corruption\Mods\Republic at War. Select Next''

Now, I have a question about this perticular tiny thingy!
You see, that 'e' part of the Installation Guide says that if you have either Steam or a different installation direction of Empire at War, you should select for example Steam\common..... Mods\Republic at War. Now this confuses.... Why are you refering to the Mods folder when someone has Steam while the orriginal installation using the setup program refers to the Data folder in Forces of Corruption?

Thats just doesn't seem right to me. Which got me confused in the first place....
So where do I install the game again?

My video card causes crashes like that occasionally when I play high end mods like Z's - hasn't happened with 1.1 but I keep my video settings low to minimize lag(very old PC) and the crashes stop too

what AI patch? just downloaded republic at war and serious AI issues. In skirmish space all they do is create vulture droids, don't even upgrade space station even on hard. In galactic conquest i NEVER get attacked and defenses are pretty weak which makes me question if the AI is even doing anything. Then land skirmish i get spammed BADLY by droidekas.

Weird because the CIS AI is supposed to be pretty aggressive even on easy if you managed to install correctly.

But for skirmish mode did you try to wait for a couple of minutes? Because the CIS does tend to stay with B1 droids for around ten minutes then they started to play for real.

BUt the AT-OT IS AWESOOOOME! If I could pick I wouldn't want new units but for the legions thing asked earlier. Where each legion comes with their own vehicles their colour. Like blue tanks for the 501st. OR I would pick the laat that can drop off the at-te's as they are slow and it would get them around the map quicker. Also the AT-TEs in my opinion should be a little stronger. Still not my mod and I a still loving the mod.

Easy was actually pretty easy, but medium on space skirmish just feels way too unfair playing against CIS as Republic. Like... I destroy all their asteroids and they still manage to MORE than match my units, type and amount, 1 for 1?

Meanwhile as CIS, I rape and pillage as I please even on medium, with a few difficulties now and then. Maybe my playstyle is just more suited to the clunkers? I have no complaints, droids all the way, I just had to test Rep for my friend who wants to play multi with me, but he thought it was underpowered and felt a little cheated. I disagreed. We're going to do 1v1 tomorrow, then I'm sure we'll find it finely tuned and balanced, as me and him were on equal ground in vanilla. (Empire all the way in vanilla!) :D

Actually, not so much destroy their asteroids as the fact that I have 5 and they have 1 from the first 2 or 3 minutes, and they're still more than matching me. Even with them having no asteroids, and their supply dock destroyed, mid-game they can still bring in a good number of frigates.
