Shadow Squadron homing in image - Republic at War mod for Star Wars: Empire at War: Forces of Corruption
Republic at War is a total conversion modification for Star Wars Empire at War Forces of Corruption. The mod replaces the Empire with the Galactic Republic and the Rebel Alliance with the Confederacy. Republic at War focuses heavily on the theatrical films but also contains content from the Clone Wars cartoon series as well as the expanded universe. Players can re-enact various Clone War campaigns such as the Outer Rim Sieges. Players will have the choice to fight as either the CIS or the Republic and wage war for control of the galaxy. Realism is key and players will have unprecedented control over how and where they fight. Push forward with an entire clone legion such as the 501st or 212th or overwhelm your opponent with a seemingly endless number of B1 battledroids. The choice is yours. There are also a number of expansions planned that will add new (as well as polish existing) content.

does anyone know why they removed the engine sheathes for the Y-wings that the rebel alliance used?
to make them cheaper....
they are also prototypes not the final versions the allince had.
i just noticed that wow there is a huge differnce between republic era and empire era
the y-wing usually had to be repaired after ever flight so the rebels removed the covers so they could perform maintainence easier.
Its because it was a pain in the *** to repair a Y-wing with the engine sheath on, so rebel engineers simply removed them

I think u have to remeber that these r the old y-wings chronogically. The rebel y-wings were probably newer
I believe I read somewhere they wanted them to look old and chopped up and modified. If you look at them they are the same ship but with the armor removed. Probably for speed.
actually, i read somewhere that that the rebel mechanics left the plates off because the y-wing required repairs after almost each flight. cuz they were too lazy to put them back on :P

If I remember correctly in the black David West Reynolds book that illustrates some parts break down for sw ships: One reason also was that the Y wings were high maintenance and the mechanics got bored and left the covers off. It also states that every y wing in rebel alliance fleet looks different due to many fixes.

There is no way a mere squadron of Y-wing can take out that beast
No kidding, since i dont think the game allows Crit. Spots (Which would be stupid anyway, but should be added for massive ships) which would mean if i blew up the shield generator, which is usually conveniently placed where the bridge is, i could cause a death like the Executor!
But they dont, so instead of gonna have to take out the bloody thing, perhaps if there was a death star...hmmmm
wow the squadron looks jagged! theyre at different positions rather than the vanilla robotlike squadrons with perfect sync. thats nice, great work!
