Republic at War is a total conversion modification for Star Wars Empire at War Forces of Corruption. The mod replaces the Empire with the Galactic Republic and the Rebel Alliance with the Confederacy. Republic at War focuses heavily on the theatrical films but also contains content from the Clone Wars cartoon series as well as the expanded universe. Players can re-enact various Clone War campaigns such as the Outer Rim Sieges. Players will have the choice to fight as either the CIS or the Republic and wage war for control of the galaxy. Realism is key and players will have unprecedented control over how and where they fight. Push forward with an entire clone legion such as the 501st or 212th or overwhelm your opponent with a seemingly endless number of B1 battledroids. The choice is yours. There are also a number of expansions planned that will add new (as well as polish existing) content.

its a good model for him and it would make more sense for him giving the hologram message . In my personal opinion though I like having the leaders ground units so I can move them about and while defending and I can enjoy the hunt while attacking. In reality if enemy troops came in striking distance of a leaders headquarters they would try to get them out of there not just hag around and hope they don't get caught. In my personal GCW I have a mon mothma model and have even started scripting escort missions. But at the same time its nice to see a form of palpatine in the mod.

Looks great! Maybe he could be used in the campaign somehow, but I dont know much about EAW, if you could mount rescue missions and such

I dig that model.
Palpatine looks really cool and detailed.

On a little side note, I know Palpy is not a ground unit, but how is he handled in space?
Comes he flying in a shuttle, just takes a ride on the nearest available Venator/Victory or does he come with his own hero ship?

Make him and gunray playable units for a especial GC in wich if one of them dies, the war ends, that would be a good game mode maybe :D

Description

Hey Guys.
During the last weeks we have made some huge progress on the mod.

First: I've started rewriting the launcher that will come with 1.2. We developed a technique that allows it to restore the whole mod if something broke or update to a newer version. Checking for online compatibility (although you can play it via Lan-Clients only) is much easier. The launcher is about 75% done and in the last week about 1.5k lines of code have been added. when the launcher is done there will be a nice demo video of it.

Second: I've added some little "things" to several GCs that might occur over the time. Don't expect too much from it but it will be signpost where we see Republic at War in the future after 1.2. We still have many ideas that have to wait. but i assure you it is worth waiting.

Last but not least I've added new Holograms to the mod which will show up at some points.

The picture is a render of our latest Unit we made into a hologram. Although Palpatine is not playable as a ground Unit it the mod, making him to a hologram required a model him. Warb tried with best effort to modify some models we already have but the results were not as good was needed. On a modding board for Jedi Academy we found the model we needed and with a bit additional work a nice render sequence has been made.
