An expansion/overhaul mod of epic proportions, with entirely rebalanced gameplay, expanded factions, new gametypes, graphical overhauls, and five new factions; stealth-based Confederate Revolutionaries, tower defense-inspired Atomic Kingdom of China, economy-focused Mediterranean Syndicate, DotA-esque Order of the Talon and spammy Electrical Protectorate.
It's been a while since I added music, yadda yadda yadda... [Insert typical spiel here].
One of the biggest features coming in the Apocalypse Minimod (for me at least) is the music. That's right, since the minimod is map-based, we're going to use it as a test bed for our map-integrated music.
Here's a preview of what you can expect to hear when playing as the Vietcong!
YES YES YES!!!
So excited.
keep hiding commander
And on Paradox (not minimod) this music would be played as a "map intro"?
Probably, it would be a shame not to hear this anywhere else...
Maybe this could play when you capture their tech structure?
That is a great idea!
Sweet idea, but if you capture a Vietcong and a ARVN building at the same time?
I'm pretty sure the game is hardcoded to detonate the C4 hidden in your computer if you capture two opposing minor faction structures at the same time. Sorry, can't do anything about it! Y'just gotta be more careful next time.
Okay LOL
wait... hidden C4? Well, I hate this computer anyway...
I knew my Mac was too heavy to just have computer parts inside...
Yah! Free C4!
Yeah I was wondering what would happen if you were, say, Talon and tried to capcha' a Cult Shrine for your own use what would happen?
YES YES A THOUSAND TIMES YES!
This isnt a bad comp but somehow it makes me think of elevator music, something you might here playing quietly in a place of business, not something fitting w/ combat. If I heard that in a battle setting I could see infantry doing pilaties or something as opposed to being on watch, preparing to attack the enemy.
I think this is supposed to be evocative of Apocalypse Now and other Vietnam movies. With that in mind, it fits very well for me.
Perhaps you're thinking about a pitched, exploding battle. If so, instead think of dragging your sweat drenched, unwashed body through steaming jungles while never quite knowing when Charlie will pop your head off.
Damnit, now I have an image in my head that this is clmly playing with an overfly shot of a jungle battlefield, with explosions everywhere, and this still playing calmly....
wait, that's quite awesome
This sounds really awesome.
Do you have any ARVN music yet?
Very nice! Can't wait to hear it when playing.
nice i like how relaxed it is.
hayding, just hayding.
Its quite good, I look forward hearing it in-game.
when i listened to this i suddenly found myself nodding to the beat and had no control of my body...
great music!
Yankee go home!
can't wait to play this, this music just made the wait wose :P
I hope Rangers' music smells of sweet sweet CCR.
Ride of the Valkryies (i fudged that up) when the PKs show up
Er...I dunno why, but somehow it reminds of the good old days when I was still playing Super Nintendo Family Computer games...
This goes better with VC than you'd think it would...
Really cool! I think it would sound good in any of the Red Alert games.
I cant wait for this mod to come in its entirity, any idea when this mod will be realeasd with everything it plans to do?i.e. all the factions units buildings ideas and the campaing it says it will have?
Beautiful stuff, with just the right stealthy overtones- although it would be nice if it had a little more of an oriental feel to it.
