The MiG Nine was the cream of second-generation fighter technology. Sleek, fast, and well armed with rocket pods and twin autocannons, the MiG Nine might have fallen behind the standard in Europe, but rules the skies in Vietnam.

Much better! The MiGs in RA3 hardly even looked like MiGs...
Well this is an outdated MiG (by 1969 standards) but still in use by minor forces. I doubt the Soviet MiG will get that much of an overhaul (then again we have the Imperial Warrior as a counter example).
That thing looks damn cool, although I'm surprised the NVA can even field something like those.
I figured they were so poor we'd be seeing an army of prop planes lol. But thats Red Alert for ya.
In the real-life Vietnam War, North Vietnam fielded MiG-21s supplied by the USSR. These are similar, but in the Red Alert universe you can also ship jigs for automated factories.
So THATS how the MiGs are assembled. After reading the wiki I got the impression they bought a only a few from the Soviets and that was all they could afford to buy on top of the fighter's maintenence.
As far as the MiG-21s, I was aware the RL NVA had MiGs. Had forgotten about it till you pointed that out (for some reason I thought the last time the US airforce had to fight MiG's was in Korea.)
