Texture is pretty good - model is way, way too basic.

Just a bit of constructive criticism =)

The model is basic, because the unit is basic. This is a scout unit, therefore, there are gonna be tons of these buggers flying around. We can't have something like this unit with a lot more polies flying about now can we? ;)

It's based off the Sherman tank, which is essentially a box:

Ummmm, how can something be too rusty? Have you ever seen an old tank before some rich guy restores it? It's pretty much a rust bucket.

i did, but it gets restored because it doesn`t even work before he restores it

The white areas on the model are for the Teamcolor, i assume? Right now the white really highlights the rust, but with team coloring it wouldn't be too bad. Could we see what it looks like with the Confederate team color applied?

That IS what it looks like. The white areas are the highlights from the specular maps; the yellow is the housecolours.

Some of my thoughts:
The texturing is much improved but it still could benefit from some differences.
As I have said before, I highly suggest you darken the standard color (which looks to be white) as when you have a specular map, you have no other range to go to exemplify the details of the metal. Making it a nice medium gray with showing the grain of the manufactured metal.
Also, the rust change is too harsh; it is not that blackish brown (it will be close if you darken the main color a bit)
Also, you should making the rusting implications on your normals map as well. Since the rust will happen on the raw, exposed metal, it is usually sunken in slightly with a slight bulge at the edges. Also, rust is completely diffuse (which is also why it appears to be darken than it actually is to the eye since it doesn't reflect concentrated light), so I shouldnt expect to see some of the highlights I do currently.

As people have said earlier, that model is pretty bland. RA3 can handle a fair amount of polies per object, so I would suggestion making representations of shovels, spare treads, crew gear, ect.

For normals on the rust, I thought of that earlier and have already started work on it. As for the colour of the diffuse map, we actually did use a lightish-gray; the render seemed to have come out much lighter than I would have thought. I believe the rust has been accounted for on the specular map, but I'm not sure, I'll have to check.

As for crew gear and the like, I generally like to avoid that sort of thing. I prefer to avoid disrupting the shape of the model with unnecessary detail; I'm a big believer in 'less is more' especially on vehicles in a game like Red Alert, where the camera is so far zoomed out.

Aye. That's great to hear, and I'd love to see how it looks once you modified it.

If you are interested I can get you a slightly modified cnc3 directx shaders (took away most of the color tinting) for 3ds max that will show you how they may look. There will definitely be some differences from the RA3 shaders, which I guess will be more saturating have have different color tints, but it is a starting point. This way you can know nearly close to how it will look ingame without relying on what a render engine that may interpret the maps differently.

I don't like the rust like if u juts created a tank form ya war factory you don't wnat it to already be dirty and rusty , make it clean and new

Technically it's not a new tank; it's being pulled from a warehouse and sent into battle. The War Factory just makes sure it's in working shape first.

Must have pretty low criteria. "Does the turret work?"
"Yeah, but the engine's been acting a little..."
"Send it out anyway!"

Description

The Beagle Light Tank is the lightest vehicle ever employed as a battle tanks, which shows ingame, as Beagles are easily defeated by almost any anti-tank unit. However, it's rapid speed and quick-firing cannon make it an effective anti-scout and anti-infantry platform, and a very good support platform, as it is fast, manuverable and easily capable of flanking enemy tanks and hitting the rear armour. Paired with the Mastiff it can use it's special function to increase the speed of the Confederate Battle Tank, bringing the fight to the enemy that much faster.
