"I don't really like the idea of blowing too many people up, but seeing as it's probably the most workable idea you've come up with; we can take you down to the base where the Allies are operating their regional patrols from too have a snoop around and to work out how you're gonna work it. Oh, and if you break into the base, try to bring back some firearms or ammo. It's not like we're swimming in guns here"

Changed my character, check back

Bo scratched his chin. "If I may say, I possibly have a friend in that Allied base. Now then, if that friend had recieved a sum of money, I'm sure he could provide us with half of anything we'd need. Uniforms, a time table for the covoys so we know whats shipping what. That way we could salvage or even, erm, sell some of the things we find. Money doesn''t grow on trees. The more we have, the more destructive raids can become."

"If you really can get us uniforms and some halfwayacceptable IDs getting into a base should not be too hard, just grabbing equipment and getting it out to safety, that´s going to be the hard thing. But that way we could get our hands on military grade democharges and rocketlaunchers, not to forget the shootier stuff. Which we could then use to ambush convoys and generally give "them Allies" some headache. I mean what is more humiliating than getting shot at with your own guns. If we can figure out a good escape/getaway plan we should try. If we see that the security is too hard, and it still seems pure suicide, we can still operate after her plan."

I'd rather see something else.

How about sabotaging some of the more experimental stuff? It's guaranteed to bring a bigger disgrace over them At least, that is considering if the allies even have those in region. And that we mess up their regular maintenance schedual so nobody finds out.

"Now you are the one biting more off than we can chew. I´d say good idea for when we have better intelligence and a broader support, but for starters... Experimental stuff is likely to be guarded way heavier than some field base. Of course it will have the right amount of boom in it, but we might need some "modern" equipment to get something like that done."
I guess the best thing to do, if Bo can get us the stuff, would be to wait until a weapons and ammo delivery arrives at that base sneak in and grab us one or more trucks before they can be unloaded.
We could go all-out: means we all go in there and everyone grabs a truck. Or, we play it a bit safer and two go in, they have to be good at driving and being unassuming, while the other two will prepare a distraction or ambush for any possible pursuiers.
In case of all out we´d have to improvise charges for that last part.
Then we take the trucks to a remote place, where Bill´s people load off the loot and get it back here. We throw camo nettings over the trucks and wait.
If they don´t find the trucks we only have to change the plates, and ta-da we got ourselves some trojan horses."

"But first we have to get to know what kind of firepower they have that would prove direct risk to us: A sketch of the base and basically a general information about their vehicles, manpower and defenses."

"I'll contact my friend and arrange a drop with some uniforms, a map, and a time table at a cafe in town, if there are no objections?"

Bo pulled out a small picture of a Sparrow Model Helicopter, "The rebellion have been employing these yes? Thats our ticket to recon photos."

(The contact would probably be a good place to roll)

"Every Allied field base is a no-fly zone; which they police pretty well; so no we can't get you aerial photos. However, we can tell you that supply truck come into the base at 0700 and 1700 sharp, as well as that the concrete wall surrounding it has a break where they launch boats onto the river."

Roll for Bo's contact (+1 for in character):6+1

"We'll see what we can do about that contac of yours, but it'll take a few hours; so there's not much point hanging around here, seeing as you sound like you know what you're doing. Go have yourselves a rest and feed."

With the meeting adjourned, everyone slunk off to the old farm house to wait.

Bo walked into the Barn behind the others. It wasn't big, but it had been cleared out slightly to accomodate any rebels that ever came to hide here. He spat in a pile of hay in the corner. When he joined the rebellion back in Jersey, he got to stay in a hotel room. Sure he had to share it, but ti was better than this dump. He took off his Fedora lied down on one of the hay piles. "Wake me up when he gets back."

But I´m not feeling like taking a nap. What´s with you Olive? You feel like sleeping? ´Cause I´m going to have a look at the hardware they got here. Your call."

John sat down on a small hayball opposite to Bo.
"Well that all began, when the new so called government began discussing about new gun-laws. When I heard that they wanted to introduce the 10mm and the 3000 ft/lbf rule, I knew they really had only one objective. To enslave the people of the USA. I am a member of the NRA since ten years, and on the annual meeting I, and many others got very worked up. Finally there was a very unassuming man who said he could get us in contact with some people, which want to keep the land of the free free. That way I came to the local cell. We did some of the usual stuff: graffiti, raids on police stations etc. I was the guy who checked and mainteneced the guns, and also the one sitting in the getaway-vehicle together with the driver with the second biggest gun, ready to shoot anything that looked Allied and like about to cause us trouble. That way I didn´t see much of the action, but... as long as I was keeper of the arsenal we had not a single jam in-op! I guess that´s why they asked me to come here. And that´s also why I am going to check the armory here."

Olive is playing with her switchblade in a patently unsafe manner.

"Went to New York for an anti-war rally, ended up hanging out with these ladies from Cell 60. Really shook me up, man. Everything started making sense all of a sudden."

She stabs the air thoughtfully.

"I've been everywhere, man. Saw some serious shit. Dropped seven tons of ordinance on some guy named Gaddafi in Libya, saw ARVN soldiers burning Buddhist temples, watched Japanese soldiers tear down LA right in front of my eyes. Everywhere I've gone is the same wars, the same messed-up leadership and the same bunch of jerks keeping everyone down. I used to think it was the fascists and commies that were the problem, then I thought it was the capitalists, but turns out the whole time it was bigger than that. Their all part of the same idea of control; controlling land, controlling people, controlling women. There's like, this giant list of who gets to control who, who gets to be above who. I didn't have a word for it before, but it turns out it's called 'patriarchy'. I used to think the Allies were about preventing that sort of thing, but was a part of it all along. The Allies started to prevent us from, like, being controlled, and now their controlling too. You just can't trust any of em."

"Don't think for an instant I trust any of you, but you seem to be down with taking the system down, and I'm down with that, so we're cool. For now."

"Ah...´kay." He turned around "Hey, Badrick what´s your story? Did you got in because of general politics, or maybe because of somebody special? Actually are you associated with one of the big 13 or independent?"
Just a thought: I think I remembered BR2 say something about this being intended as a lighthearted story, well Sketch you certainly are moving the thing quite a bit into the darker ways. I do understand and it´s fine by me but I just wanted to mentoin it as it is not quite what originally I expected.

Bo gulped abit after Olive's last words. "I was in New York, conducting some, business when the Soviets invaded. Things started crumbling after that for me. My business, my life destroyed by the Soviets or gangs. I want to start over." Bo said, still stairing at the wooden roof. "I've been working through logistics and information gathering for the Confederates, but I have been more than capable of holding my own. Things just got too hot up East though. I had to be relocated." Bo pulled out a wad of cash "All I got left now. I've been rich and ive been poor. Rich is much better."

"As I mentoined before, if your contact can get us uniforms and stuff, we have a unique chance of getting our hands on truckloads of state-of-the-art military hardware. Depending on how much we can get I´d say half goes directly into the armory and half is sold, you get back your money. We´re going to have to talk about that with Bill, of course. But that´s all speculations before your contact arrives or we get in contact, whatever.
I guess I will check the armory or whatever they call it here, and I guess I´ll have a look into the kitchen on the way back. Shall I fetch some beer or chips when I´m at it?"

"Machineguns? Rocketlaunchers? Grenadelaunchers and tanks? Well we´ll see what we can get. But it´s a long road until we can even think about raiding a tank depot...I guess. Now excuse me." John turns to the door and leaves in search for the place where the weapons and ammo are stowed.

John hops up from the ground and walks out the barn door. Having a quick look around, he goes back to the machine shed; rushing round the corner and running directly into Bill. After a few awkward seconds on the ground, Bill hauls himself up to his feet.
"What are you doing out here, sonny?"
"I was just going to look over those guns of yours..."
"Never mind that right now, I'll give you a good look once I've told everyone how Bo's contact panned out." Bill interrupts.
"While you're here, will you give me a hand with these crates?"
Bill hands a milk crate to John and they set off back to the barn.

Back at the barn.
"Turns out that insider of your knew what he was doing. He got us all set up for a sneak in tomorrow morning. These milk crates have got your uniforms and ID badges in them."
Bill spreads the content of the crate on the floor and then continues,
"He got us an exact time on when the first supply truck is coming tomorrow. We'll drop y'all off just off the interstate, and you can jump the truck and hopefully drive right in without them getting suspicious. He even to the liberty of dosing the normal truck drivers' food with a little something, so they'll have called in sick and the guards at the gate won't be expecting the regulars."
Bo eyed the blue-grey overalls with contempt. There is an additional moment of silence as everyone searches for a uniform that is a good fit. After that, Olive shoves the remainder of the pile out of the middle of the floor with her foot.
"Y'all might as well come along and get a little familiar with the guns you'll be taking with you."

Bill gestures at the gun cabinet on the wall, standing slightly ajar. It has a crudely sawn break barrel shotgun, a pair of bolt rifles, a dented Rangemaster and a Thompson sub machinegun.
"If you want a bit of a shoot, there's a bit of a clearing in the cotton field outside with some old fence posts every 10 yards. Try not to burn up to much ammo, 'cause it's expensive; and try to get some sleep once you're done, 'cause it'll be an early start tomorrow. And try not to break anything"

"A 98 and a Springfield, hmm... I guess I´ll take the 98, it will blend in better. Well as far as it can blend in with modern assault rifles. Do you have any scope for this? Also, no pistols? 1911s would do. I mean sidearms are standard issue with any military, ain´t they?"
John operates the action a few times, until he is sure it works smoothly.
"If you have chosen,... ah I guess you know how to clean your weapons."
He faces Bill:"Could you show me where the cleaning kit is, and about the ammo: Do you have any special shells or just normal FMJs?"
