Reclamation is a non linear total conversion for Doom 3 with a new story. Taking its cue from doom 3's immersive, interactive levels, Reclamation sets you loose in a giant, eerie, depopulated underground military research facility that is a world away from mars city and sees you battling biological-warfare induced hallucinations as you struggle to reclaim anything of value that is left, and the earth struggles to reclaim the installation built deep under her surface.

Post news Report RSS New model and weapon

Its been a while, but today I present a new spaceship model and a working submachinegun for doom 3.

The mod is progressing slowly but steadily. The making of this burst-fire submachine gun has been a learning process, and now that I know how to export and rig weapons for Doom 3 you can expect some more in the future. All models and textures are created using free tools such as Blender 3d and Gimp. Currently there are about 100mb of custom assets, most of which are textures. Textures are an important part of the mod; Reclamation aims to use only custom textures, which means it can be ported to other engines with minimum effort.

Here is a space fighter I have been working on for some time now. Shown below is a rendered image
and some in game shots.

Gah, the submachinegun is so sexy. Though not very detailed, texture-wise.

And, hey there, what's planned for the space fighter... ?

I have to agree it looks like they just put a metal texture on it and let the shadows handle the rest...

The spacefighter is mainly just a prop; I can make it sort of hover and fly along a path, but no piloting it, unless a scripter wants to help out.

As for the gun yeah, the difusemap definately needs work.

What you mean by the shadows doing the work is actually the normalmap; the model is quite smooth to keep polies to a minimum.
