RCOM or 'Realistic' 'Combat' 'Overhaul' 'Mod' is a mod for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. - Call of Pripyat that aims to bring in a greater emphasis on realism. Additionally porting most of the 'Clear sky' levels to 'Call of Pripyat'. These levels are being filled with new content, NPC's, Dialogues and Quests.

Rcom will also have extended support for mods like Atmosfear 3. So you can customize the game to your own personal preferences.

Armor Penetration Overhaul

I have yet to see a CoP mod that has an armor system that reflects the actual NIJ level classifications, so I've been hard at work on one!

Damage is very heavy to the actor and NPC's. Armor ranges from class IIa armor to class V. If you try to shoot soft tipped bullet's into a high enough class armor, you're not going to kill an enemy. There's a progressive scale that mimics something much more like real life than what is in vanilla stalker.

Most armors come with just torso armor, or torso and head. Upgrades will allow for armom plates to be added to other areas of the body.

Now a picture, so you know I'm actually still working on the game again!!

PS: I need a few beta testers soon. Send me a PM if you're interested :-)

Prefer to play those kind of games without addons...
Anyway keep up a good work.

And next time you should not spam pm to every one, not all like this game, so it is quite annoying...

It's really the only way to tell people about it. I do my best to send only one to everyone, and try to personally respond to everyone. I've had the opposite reaction as yours though. I apologize if my PM was too much of an inconvenience.

Ok, I reached the Skadovsk and a few comments:
1. You should give the player back his AK74/2U and some ammo.
2. You should improve the layout of the hud. it just looks unnatural now. Group the icons etc better and so on. Dont bring back the minimap!
3. The prices for ammo are ridiculous!! I'm not talking about the selling prices, I'm talking about buying. I mean c'mon! 80Ru for a SINGLE 5.54mm round?
4. The relation of prices should be improved, like you can't buy a drink for 75 and sell for 22? I think owl shouldn't be trusted and his prices are off, but Beard and Hawaiin should be "loyal" and buy goods from you at a good price but maybe not sell as much stuff(and maybe buy) as owl, or not as badly damaged goods as him. Beard for instance should still sell only food and later a few artefacts but he buys some items(food and all artefacts) at a relatively good price, say 75% of the original. Owl should sell everything to you from bandages, bread and ammo to body armour but ask a little ridiculous prices for them and only pay you only like 30% of the original price. This should increase as he gains more trust in you. Hawaiin should be like owl in selling goods at higher prices than owl(say 150% as much) but he will buy them for alot more like also 75%, but that is decreased in the start. He might also now and again give you items for free and more of them as he gains your trust.

Further than that, its just perfect!! :D

Thx for the feedback!

1. I left the AK out at start so people would be like "wtf I'm toast" haha. I also left it out so people could feel the pistols and how the feel/penetrate, since there's not much reason to use a pistol when you'll have several other guns after one mission. I will definitely consider adding it back in, but you really can come across one pretty easy.

2. The HUD is Ceano's, but editing it is possible. To be honest, I love it as is. The main thing is I want the game to be realistic/immersible, and the less HUD elements there are, the more I feel that happens. Maybe if you could specify a bit more what you didn't like about it.

3. Yea, I know the ammo is insanely priced. The reason for that is because you use about 1/10 the ammo in RCOM than in the vanilla game, so in RCOM before it was super easy to make a ton of money selling ammo, and never worry about running out. It seems like in the zone the two most valuable things to STALKERs would be ammo and the most valuable thing to traders would be artifacts. I probably will bring it back down a fair amount, but I'd love to hear how you feel about after playing further into the game.

4.Bring up pay for food from friendly traders might be a good idea, good call.

Yes, Redux uses the weapons and ammo portions of this mod, but not other things such as the hit effects, artifact guns, and AI. Redux uses v.1.0.3 Beta. Upgrades will be in the next release, which should be very soon.

FYI this is no longer part of Redux. RCOM upgrades are exclusive to RCOM for now.

Very good Mod, realistic just like i want my game to be. May be too punishing, but nothing constant saving can't fix. Gave it a 10/10 Great work.
