RCOM or 'Realistic' 'Combat' 'Overhaul' 'Mod' is a mod for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. - Call of Pripyat that aims to bring in a greater emphasis on realism. Additionally porting most of the 'Clear sky' levels to 'Call of Pripyat'. These levels are being filled with new content, NPC's, Dialogues and Quests.

Rcom will also have extended support for mods like Atmosfear 3. So you can customize the game to your own personal preferences.

Armor Penetration Overhaul

I have yet to see a CoP mod that has an armor system that reflects the actual NIJ level classifications, so I've been hard at work on one!

Damage is very heavy to the actor and NPC's. Armor ranges from class IIa armor to class V. If you try to shoot soft tipped bullet's into a high enough class armor, you're not going to kill an enemy. There's a progressive scale that mimics something much more like real life than what is in vanilla stalker.

Most armors come with just torso armor, or torso and head. Upgrades will allow for armom plates to be added to other areas of the body.

Now a picture, so you know I'm actually still working on the game again!!

However I've noticed a bug where the A.I doesn't respond to being shot. I noticed this in the ship where the ambush mission takes place during the beggining of the game. After the ambush, when the stalkers were peacefully patrolling the ship, I decided to shoot them. I've reloaded several times; sometimes they react to the shots, and behave as you would expect. Other times they just keep patrolling whilst being shot, and don't respond to help each other. I thought maybe this was a mod conflict as I had atmosfear 3 installed (I merged with winmerge), but I've tried with just the RCOM mod on its own and the same thing happens; sometimes they react, sometimes they act is if I'm not stood there shooting them. Am I missing something? Is it just a one off at this location for some reason?

Thanks for any response. As I said, really like the mod apart from this. The A.I has been impressive on other occasions (the ambush victims legged it into the swamp! Had to hunt them down), and the mod has a very immersive feel to it. The way the characters react when shot is very realistic (not counting the bug described above).

Thanks for the bug report. Many AI bugs like this have been sorted out or have a plan to be sorted out and just need to finish being implemented. Most the remaining RCOM tasks are planned, just still in the process of being put together.

Hey, thanks for the prompt response. I tried the same thing on vanilla and didn't get the problem, so definitely RCOM related. I'll let you know if I spot any other bugs as I play through.

Again, awesome modification. Testing the vanilla version again, the guns and fight dynamics feel so flat an empty in comparison to RCOM!

Very good Mod, realistic just like i want my game to be. May be too punishing, but nothing constant saving can't fix. Gave it a 10/10 Great work.
