4 years have passed since the last battle was upon them. In those 4 years the Elves secretly prepared for the war that was to come, training their best units, bolstering their defenses and calling upon the Valar to withstand the incoming onslaught. Now, as the drums of war sound in the distance, the Elves must bolster their resolve once again, for they must not let for they must not let the enemy break through, they must defend... The Last Haven, or all shall be lost.

After 4 years of absence, the Ridder Clan Mod team (which has since the last release been reduced to two actual team members, hence the lack of updates and all that) proudly presents The Last Haven, a mod which will expand Battle for Middle Earth 2 unlike any other mods before it. This release will specifically concentrate on the Elven faction whilst keeping most of the things the official game added.

Mod Highlights :

- The High-Elves have risen to defend Middle Earth!
The Elven faction has been completely overhauled, featuring new units, new building, new heroes and even a new Fortress , you'll have to see it for yourself.

- What shall we choose?
The Last Haven introduces a new system, called the Vote System which at the beginning of any battle allows you to choose between your gameplay style, the starting resources or the unit and building production rate. Do note that once you've chosen and committed your options you cannot change them.

- History repeats itself : Battle For Middle Earth Mode
As part of that voting system there is an option which allows you to choose between Battle For Middle Earth I or II play style. Choosing Battle For Middle Earth I allows you to play it exactly as in the original Battle For Middle Earth game.

- Rise against the enemy with your own Hero!

With the new and improved Create-A-Character System you can create your own Elven hero. Use your imagination to create not only a Hero for the Elves or Men, but a Champion for the Free Peoples of Middle Earth.

Elven faction rooster:

-Do I need a previous release to update this release?
*No, this release contains an updater which updates the mod without needing to patch the mod manually.

-Do I install the mod over the original BFME2 files?
*The game launches as a separate expansion, similar to how ROTWK launches so you can install the mod anywhere you want. (But really, please don't install it in the same folder as either game... or anywhere else that has important data. Because that data gets deleted upon the start of the setup.)

-My game crashes on startup?
*Make sure you have deleted the old Create-a-Hero data from in your rc mod files in your application data (%appdata%). They are located in the save folder.

-Where is the voting system?
*The voting system is currently only implemented on the maps with (VS) in front of them, we are working on also putting it into the rest of the maps.

-This mod contains elements/units/powers from the Hobbit movies?
*In the current release there is no content from The Hobbit movies, but we plan on doing that in the future.

-Does this release contain changes to the original factions?
*No this mod does not change the vanilla factions yet. We will, however, do that in the future.

-Does this mod run on BFME2?

-What factions will this release contain?
*The release contains High-Elves, Gondor, Mordor, Isengard.

-What races and classes will you have for the new CaC?
*Female Human and High-Elf Warrior as races. The classes depends on the races.

-Are the factions in this mod balanced?
*We have not fully balanced the factions in the mod. We will in upcoming updates.

We urge you to follow us on our Facebook page for more social events made specially for fans!

Known Installation issues:
*Please make sure your launcher is CLOSED when updating, otherwise this can prevent it from being updated!!!
*If the launcher did not update to a version with a button on it, download it from 'https://www.dropbox.com/s/baokmvx0065srla/RC Mod Launcher.exe?dl=0 ' and copy it to where the launcher is.
*You may need to copy Game2.dat from your BFME 2 installation place to the game folder in the RC Mod installation directory! (if you download the patch/mod after this is posted it should not be a problem)
*If you wish to run the singleplayer (without needing to mount the RC Mod cd, or use the RotWK cd) please download the singleplayer files from here: 'https://www.dropbox.com/s/1d5fi6dzabfu1rf/RCMod - Singleplayer.zip?dl=0' These can be put into the game folder in the installation directory, and run manually to play singleplayer.

Known issues:
*Elrohir,Elladan,Cirdan,Galdor were removed due to some bugs
*No Lore-master powers

*Some High-Fortress upgrades do nothing
*High-Elven Heroes kept their original portraits
*BFME1 mode does not contain camps

Expect these bugs to be resolved in the following days/weeks. We advise not saving games during this period otherwise they might not work afterwards.

As this our release for almost 4 years and many things have changed so we encourage people to re-rate our mod after they tried it!

There are still many things to do so we appreciate any feedback from you guys! Here, on Revora, or even personal PM, we are looking forward to making this mod even better.

Happy Playing!

Hello fans and followers!

We have decided the result of our poll!
Here are the 3 factions with the most votes:

1st : Wood Elves with 25% of total votes.
2nd : Dol Guldur with 19% of total votes.
3rd : Dwarves with 14% of total votes.

Looks like Wood Elves had won with a crushing distance so...

The rest of the faction had 10% or under that. As we promised we will focus on the first options while trying to incorporate elements from the other 2 votes. Before actually starting to work on the new factions we must finish our current release so it will take a while.

Thank you for all the votes, we had almost 70 of votes, which for us mean a lot! Thank you again for your contribution with the future of our mod.

Any suggestion you can post on main ModDB page.

You download the installer, and then run the launcher, which should take care of the rest of the installation.

Alright gonna work on Bodies Stay for this and Edain within the next two weeks. :D

Anyways, I have a suggestion for a faction?
I was thinking Eriador. I've only seen that in one other BFME II mod and as well as Total War mods.
Eriador is just such a unique and diverse faction. You'd have hobbits from the Shire, guards of the Greenway, rangers of the North, men of Tharbad, etc. And it could even be merged into the Arnor faction? Lead Strider to a path where he can reunite the Kingdoms of Arnor and Gondor. Basically, he can choose two paths. The path of the Ranger and in self-exile where you can still recruit but stronger rangers and get several upgrades. Or he can take the path of the King where he reforges Narsil into Anduril but the Rangers disperse and can no longer be recruited and you'll have stronger units (Arnor units) but can no longer recruit Breelanders, Greenway Guards, Hobbits, etc. and only Arnor units (which are also almost twice as expensive). I don't really know, you can do a LOT with Eriador and I think it'd be very fun to see what you guys can do.

Other things: Angmar should be renamed to Gundabad and have a function where it can be upgraded into Angmar? I know it doesn't follow timeline but I just think that'd be pretty cool.

Gondor, Mordor, and Isengard do not need a remake because they are perfect in my opinion. The models and textures, units, etc. are already amazing as is :D Although all change is welcome ^_^

Dol Guldur is just... oh I wanna really see Dol Guldur ;_; they could have a building that calls for reinforcements from Gundabad/Misty Mountains; Bolg/Azog as a temporary summon. I think the "leader" of the faction should be Khamul and not Witch King though. Give them Khamul and maybe 2-3 other Nazzies and let the rest stay in Mordor. Though the problem with this is with the release of a DG as as sep. faction, people may start suggesting a Minas Morgul faction which basically gives Mordor 3 different factions lol

There's also the Wood Elves that I'd like to see. You'd have to choose between Mirkwood or Lorien in the beginning and then the other subfaction not chosen will have a building that lets you recruit their main heroes (Mirk = Thranduil and Legolas; Lorien = Celebor, Galadriel, and/or Haldir) as well as a limited amount of their elite troops. Mirkwood could be the heavy stronger offensive oriented faction and Lorien can be the opposite. The hit-and-run, counter attacking/harassing faction.

Men of the East is another option that I think is unique. Several others have done MotE but it's still a faction where you can add a lot of things. Not much is known so bam: you got dragons, wyrms, wyverns, Variags, Haradrim, Easterlings, Half Trolls, etc. It's just such a cool faction and I think it'd be my most played faction but I really wanna see what you guys can do with Dol Guldur

Arnor.. well what I said about Eriador :D

Dwarves.. oh yes I'd love to see them. The armored troops of the Iron Hills backed by the great weaponry of the dwarves of Erebor. Awww yeeee. Again, a faction where you can do a lot of things with which makes it such a popular choice.

Rohan is a fun faction filled with Cavalry and such and I just love Rohan. You guys have already created a lot of Rohan stuff (previous versions ;D) and I think this will be a pretty easy faction to create and gives us something to fight Isengard with. Rohan's just the most badass faction imo solely because of Helm's Deep and the Fords of Isen.

That's about it. I'm looking forward to your future work and you guys are my favorite mod for BFME II. I hope you two can find help where it is needed because I was sad to hear about you two being the last members of the group :( The Two Riders, Valaquenta and Geel, I wish you both the best of luck and fun creating the mod.

Either mount the rc mod cd (it's in the download section), use the rotwk cd, or just download the single-player exe as explained in the v3 release news post :)

Highest Rated (11 agree) 10/10

After Geel contacted me and provided the fix I gave the mod another chance. At it's current state the mod is doing good. There are some maps that do not support BFME1 and/or 2 mode so they end instantly and few other things that need to be tweaked.

All together, I have decided to give this mod a 10 only because the mod creator is personally taking his time to get the mod working for individuals and I honestly do believe that after few fixes it will be a mod worth playing.

Complicated to install, lacks maps, graphics for certain structures need updates. Multiplayer is far to complicated to be practical.
