A dark, rather complicated and maybe even offensive mod, wich is being developed by only one person right now. Raven City is the place of a secret and borderline-legal research program that can save humanity from the universal Combine empire. Underneath the cover of strict research, there is an unimaginable flux of evil deeds and desperation, where heroes are crushed and the weak ones are used to justify the strong. The day of final judgement is close to come, when all who are worthy journey aboard the ark, and the sinful are left to damnation. ( Do not be mistaken, I'm completely atheistic and do not believe in spirituality, or fall into the belief of any of the false tools of exhausting the blind( Scientology ). I want to thank the following people for helping me: SysOp, BUzer, Aaron, Demiurge, PlayBus, and many other people who have helped my journey in the art we call game development.

As the exams are over, together with the constant Paranoia and atmosphere of ignorance constantly dissipating, I am proud to announce that I'm continuing work on Raven City.

My duties at school are over, so I can now continue on with my biggest project, Raven City. I have been busy working on some special things that would be really nice to see in RC. Before, Raven City mainly aimed at gameplay and the storyline, but the new Raven City aims at everything the player has to encounter. I'm going to make a list of the most important graphical elements of the game.

- BattleGrounds Particle Engine -

I want to thank the BattleGrounds team for making this excellent particle engine. I still have to work on it though, it needs a lot of optimizing for a singleplayer game. It will be toggleable, so those who might have graphics problems can switch back to Half-Life's original particle effects.

- Stencil Shadowing -

I have been working for weeks on it, but I had to give my own code up, since I lacked enough knowledge to get it working. BUzer( The coder of Paranoia ) was kind enough to code stencil shadows, and share his code with me. My plan is to make it fully dynamic, meaning that they will be casted at realistic angles, and fixing the bugs with fog.

Raven City's game elements are mainly reminiscent of games like Silent Hill 2, F.E.A.R., a little bit of Opposing Force and many other wich I can't remember right now. The story is dark and becomes more and more twisted, revealing in the end why the Combine was able to conquer Earth, and where the whole army disappeared to.
