Thrawn will get a Victory-II frigate during the Clone War. He'll be a recruitable hero on Csilla at tech 5. During the CIS Holdouts era, he'll use a Valiant. Though, the Valiant is debatable.

Yep, I added it on the list when Grand.Admiral.Thrawn noticed it missing. Still trying to figure out if I want to use the Pandemic/Republic Commando, Republic Heroes, or Free Radical AT-TE.

I thought about it, but decided against it.

Legions are optional entirely, but decided to have Jedi be a guaranteed sight. Best I have, is Jedi being lumped together with their fleet admiral. So,

Anakin, Ahsoka, and Yularen - Spawns the Resolute, and that subsequently spawns Anakin, and Ahsoka's Delta-7B/ETA-2.

I realize that you've gone over this before, and I understand your concerns with pathfinding etc. for larger ships, but I think that this mod would do well with some more diversity in terms of republic and imperial cap ships... right now they're all in the 1km range, and I think that limits the space battles more to spamming venators than having some interesting fleet battles. (Whereas the CIS can bring a nice mix of ships)... Like I said I know that you've gone over this, but I know that lots of other mods have had success with larger ships, and I firmly believe that having a nice spectrum of ship sizes is what keeps that game interesting and stops it from becoming monotonous.

Continuing on that strain, I absolutely love the amount of frigates and other smaller ships (kontos being a favorite of mine)... do you have any plans to make these sorts of ships feasible in game? They're not particularly useful in large-scale battles—being outclassed by larger ships—but I would love to get your ideas on having the AI match fleet sizes. Like say you have a kontos and two corvettes guarding a planet, in most EAW mods the AI just comes through and steamrolls you with a stack of 100 cap ships. Is it possible to have them come in with a stronger, but more similar fleet size? I think that would let your amazing work on the frigates and corvettes shine a bit more.

Lastly, have you considered making a combat rig of the Indictor? Its such a beautiful ship and I would love to see a version of it be anti-fighter.

I understand the concern, and I've got some plans with that. The big ships will have a finite limit on how many can be built. So lifetime builds for a Venator could be 50, Legacy has a cap of 20, Imperator has a cap of 2, and so on. Smaller ships will be weaker, but unlimited. I also plan on recalling some ships, so they're not hovering near 1 KM. The Legacy will likely go to 2 KM with the Rothana Carter, and the Valiant will go to 1.5 KM.

Experiences in old builds will also be different than the upcoming one.


Smaller ships, by their nature, should be outclassed by the bigger ships. A Kontos can't go toe-to-toe with a Providence, some strategy should be used with flanking. However, I would like to modify the AI to not consolidate power in one fleet, and build varying ship types.


The Indictor (and many other ships) were rigged before I lost my HDD. I plan on rerigging it again.

That's great to hear about the differing sizes among the cap ships.

I wasn't meaning to suggest that somehow a frigate should be able to take on a cap ship, just that it would be nice to see some smaller-scale fleet battles (so a battle with mostly frigates dueling it out). This would mimic real strategy, as you wouldn't commit expensive and limited capital ships to take out a few corvettes (unless it was a key planet). An example of this might go:

Level 3 Space station, along with a 2 Kontos and a few corvettes is protecting a far outer rim world. In most other mods, the AI would send something along the lines of 3 Lucrehulks and some Providences. This isn't particularly realistic or fun for gameplay. If instead the AI sends maybe 2 Recusants and a carrier, which is still more powerful of a fleet, then there is a chance to defend, and small fleets made up of frigates and corvettes become more useful.

And have you thought of adding the Kontos as a Republic ship? I'm noticing a lack of frigates... :D

I'd have to adjust the AI for most of that stuff, but I can probably figure the scripts out.

I might add a few Imperial ships to the Republic list, not sure.

Awesome! That AI change would make such a huge difference in gameplay, so I look forward to seeing what you can work out.

Last thought on the cap ship sizes, have you thought of making the Rothana or the Praetor proper battlecruiser sizes? (Personally, I think that the Rothana Battlecruiser has a nice hull shape to be ~battlecruiser length). And IIRC currently the Rothana ships are the same sizes, so how are they different?

Have you considered using hard points on some of the larger land units? (I'm thinking Jug and ATTE would do well with them)

And I believe you said that you were going back to single-unit squads as opposed to individual troopers... One of the things I liked most about this mod was the mixed types of troopers in a regular company. Will this stay?

I'll play around with the Rothana ship scales, not sure what I want them to be yet.

A bunch of land units technically have hardpoints. They're just not selectable/destroyable, which I don't plan to change. If I add small ships, that might change.

Mixed troopers types will stay, in fact, I already have some coded in.

Both Senate Guards, and Red Guards will be planetary garrisons on Coruscant.

Jedi will be a separate from legions. The really big names like Anakin, Obi-Wan, Yoda, and Mace will be major heroes. The lesser known ones will be build-able, minor heroes.
