Raising the Bar is a mod based off of the idea of amalgamating the earliest concepts of Half-Life 2 into a coherent story. This mod is not a leak-fix, nor is it a concept art recreation gallery; it will be a full story with inspiration from the old material as well as our own ideas of how to make it all fit together.
Very shiny.
Is renderer, but not have texture yet, thats the reason ;)
So where these meant to be in the game then?
On the beginning, you can see how is crushing a train.
But aside from that, you dont find it again?
And if you can fight it, are you (Mod's Team) going to use the Black Mesa: Source's AI, coding, etc?
We are thinking include in place like wasteland or coast, personally, i think is more funny, or epic another battle with gargantua, so we are thinking that.
And nope, we have the original AI code from Half-Life, so we will mod it.
Battles between two gargs could be just awesome. But I personally am not so sure about fighting one in the wastes, since they show themselves best in tight, closed spaces, and when out in the open, they become fairly easy to evade. So maybe place one (or more) in some caves? Where it would break rocks, roars going echoing through the tunnels, all that.
Just imagine being in a small valley/arena shaped clearing surrounded by cliffs. There would be rocks around so that you could run around/through them and the Gargantua would be hunting you down throwing rocks around. That's my vision of what the Gargantua could have done.
Good thing too. It would suck to just have this in one sequence and not appear for the rest of the game.
I recommend going away from the original Half Life 1 design and mix it up a bit. Experiment, don't just copy Half life.
It gets old. I know you guys can cook up a good model. You just have you put a lot of effort into it.
It works just fine, why improve something that's doesn't need improvement?
I agree with SectorC but I can admit having a modified version (maybe by the combine) would be awesome. Something like a Gargantua synth. If not maybe having it be wounded or something of the sorts would be fantastic.
Are you guys gonna make Skitch?
Yes :)
Now I'm definetly gonna play it :D
my god this will be great
