Raising the Bar is a mod based off of the idea of amalgamating the earliest concepts of Half-Life 2 into a coherent story. This mod is not a leak-fix, nor is it a concept art recreation gallery; it will be a full story with inspiration from the old material as well as our own ideas of how to make it all fit together.

Why this is worm?
It was about to use Electric Whip which that worm attacks you with but hes really fast so ye hehe!
well its a combine alien soldier for starters ,,, you know these were the guys that kicked out ***** in a mere 7 hours mind you :P
And yea he was originally depicted as being armed with a electrical razor bladed whip for close combat and a bullpup looking pulse gun and pulse grenade for regular combat.

My only issue with this model is that the head is positioned to high it should be shorter like this

Yes i know, is a WIP model, we need mod the head, and more fixes, don't worry the final version will be same to concept art version. ;)

Btw how do you know that it used Bull pup looking pulse rifle. I only found that it used Electric whip. Could you tell me atleast how that bull pup rifle looked like and how do you know it? or a link for it!

Ive seen another version of this long ago where the box was missing in the guns so I assumed it was a bull pup.
It actually helped inspire my own design of a pulse bullpup gun shown here. You can use it for reference if you want.

Actually the gun that the soldier you see there is holding is most likely an early HMG1, since it has the scope, box magazine and bipod. Also, the soldier pictured with it is actually more resembling of, in my opinion, an early sniper or overwatch elite.
On RTB combine soldiers would be this 'worms' with a face more 'alien' than human, but finally the retail version is with combine soldiers like humans, on RTB(Mod) you can find this combine soldiers or the 'humans'.

I'm kind of hoping we will only see these in places like the Citadel and the Depot as I would prefer it if you didn't replace the normal soldiers though as the Combine were always supposed to be more subtle hence the reason they use Transhumans instead of whatever aliens they used in the 7 hour war.
