I dunno what people are saying....it's just alot of purple text for entities/vis groups covering the screen. Hammer for Source is easier than Hammer for GoldSrc imo. If not one of the easiest in-depth level making programs for any game...
Doesn't look too confusing, judging by the first part of this mod, this is probably a top-down view. The other 2 views make it much easier, and the 3D view is good for selecting things.
Also, I think there's a tool in Hammer that blocks out entities if you're not working on those parts at the time.
I see alot .. most is Func_debris is thing .. there are some _Filters too ..
Props ofc .. but i have even seen some Overridesments .. ( sorry if this is written totaly wrong , i just forget the word for them xD )

Don't map with hammer? What else choice have you got then that has compatibility with Source?
I would assume the 'in hammer' within brackets.
So it would be something like-
"This is why I don't map. (with Hammer)"
This would imply that he doesn't map for source games but possibly maps for other games.

Hammer may be really In Depth. But it prides itself on the customization. You build nearly EVERYTHING. You can make it look like whatever you want.

i never use visgroups.. i know i should but im used to not using them so my brain literally explode.. i think i should use them :D

You can turn off the purple names if they become a problem. Never had to do that myself, though.
Just take in to consideration that that is a pretty damn simple map there. The only thing making it scary is the purple text.
