Are you using some kind of texture here? THe surfaces don't look pure white but rather as if they were made from "something" Like an undesignated material that seems "Oh I guess that's about right" I really like it.

There are no Half-Life 2 prequels.

The series went in order. 1998: Half-Life, 1999: Opposing Force, 2001: Blue Shift/Decay, 2004: Half-Life 2, 2005: Lost Coast, 2006: Episode 1, 2007: Episode 2\Portal, 2011: Portal 2. That's in chronological order in-game as well (except for Lost Coast, which never officially happened in the space-time continuum, and Portal and Portal 2, which is in the same universe but hasn't met with Half-Life except for the Borealis and small hints, but if they make a Portal 3 Chell will have emerged in Combine-controlled Earth). Thank you for this geek history lesson.

Description

So in developing this style, I wanted something that was part untextured model render, part realistic, part shiny / metal, part flat-shaded, and part undetailed. In general, the more detailed something is, the less symbolic it can become in the player's mind - so here I have some vague mechanical shaped things on the walls. It's enough to tell you that this is supposed to be a submarine, but hopefully you're still able to say to yourself, "okay, but what else?"
