Quiver
Half-Life mod | TBD
Quiver is a recreation and scrap-up-of-what's-left from the Half-Life 1 alpha. The goal of the mod is to recreate the Half-Life which 1997 knew it as. The mod's time period is directed more towards Half-Life's early E3 videos as we can use most concepts to some degree. Some things, such as Gordon's female attraction from extremely early concepts, aren't going to be included while cut areas, like the military base and aircraft hangars in the chapter Surface Tension, will be included. Other mechanics such as the scrapped 'Loot' multiplayer gamemode will be included for it's intended level. The mod has been slowly created from a number of contributors who have helped over the past few years.

I've almost done the first cut chapter, Communication Center, that will be featured in the first episode of Quiver. It's filled with panicking scientists, poison headcrabs, alien grunts and a hell of a lot more.
The gameplay of Quiver is similar to that of Quake, and not Half-Life. Half-Life in 1997 was a completely different game (a revamped spin-off of Quake), being the reason it was originally delayed. It's fast-paced shoot-and-run, along with a number of scripted sequences. A story is involved, but the mod primarily focuses on the old code.

Have we thought of the idea that the retail version of "We've Got Hostiles" was taken from an early TF2 instead of the other way around? Maybe since the alpha one blew.
