This is the most up-to-date and the best combination package you could ever use to play quake in true High Definition with special effects. This mod has many textures, progs, and effects from Rygel, Seven, Ruohis, Moon[Drunk], etc. The Darkplaces engine is the most current as well. It took me years of waiting and collaboration to put them all into their respective pk3, pak, and autoexec.cfg files. No need to run any kind of vispatch for water effects. Just drop the files into the Quake directory and your good to go!

Quake Definitive (OneDrive)

It's finally done!! Click the OneDrive words to download. It's very easy to use, just copy the contents into your Quake directory, run Winquake, and you're done. If you want to integrate this to Steam, copy the entire folder into the Quake directory within your steam common folder and just run the game through steam like normal. Remove the autoexec.cfg in your id folders.

I have finalized the mod to it's fullest potential to the most nostalgic way to play the original Quake. I have placed the autoexec.cfg within the PAK3.pk3 so that it can't be changed unless you want to make changes yourself. This is a critical file that contains the custom monsters for the Spider, Afrit, Wizard, etc. Even though this mod is dedicated to playing through with only the original monsters, you are more than welcome to go through the settings and customize your Quake experience. I made some adjustments to the Gyro effects so that when you hit sprites they will move or even fly backwards to give the weapons a bit more of a powerful feeling; especially the double-barrel shotgun.

Flickering will occur within your game if RT World and RT World Shadows are both enabled, go to Options - Customize Lighting for more information. There is nothing I can do to fix this. The Romi RTLights and the Darkplaces engine conflict in some areas. If you have RT World disabled due to lower machine specs, then you have nothing to worry about.

If you like to have slo-mo during gibbing, in the autoexec.cfg located in the Id1 folder locate, set slowmotion value to 1 (currently disabled).

I have replaced ALL weapon sounds using their respective originals in 44kHz frequency with deeper bass, and adjusted treble settings. I hope you like it.

Open PAK3.pk3 within your Id1 folder using winrar, open sound, and delete the weapons folder.
