Installation: Easy as breathing. Just copy and paste two original files from your Quake CD into a given folder, run the vispatcher. After that just copy and paste these two files in another given folder and you are done and ready to play. I personally hate it when I have to read several instructions of how to get amod running. Not with this mod - its like plug and play. Graphic: It is one of the best graphics quality ever seen on a Quake Mod. Especially the new shadow effects are bringing a whole…

lol 1 hr download..
How do I install this mod? Can I still do it with the steam version?
Use 7-zip.org to unpack it.
Then read QHD_v1.28_README.pdf you will find inside decompressed folder.
Does this work with DOS version?
It works with any version you have already installed. You only have to copy some original game data into it. If you have only DOS version and have problem with installing it in the first place: Mhquake.blogspot.com
Thanks. Definitely giving it a try.
Great compilation, with a pretty wide spectrum of enchancements.
I was searching hours and hours to collect all stuff, but then I found this one has everything you need, in a nice simple pack. Needless to say, 10/10.
I only faced one problem, the fonts seem a bit too small to read sometimes; notably the menu.. Especially worse should you choose to play windowed.
On very high resolutions (like 1080p) it's okay however, though still pretty small in proportion..
You've got any ideas/fixes in mind for this issue?
And a couple of suggestions/questions:
- Will we ever get updated monster models, like the ones here?
Quakeone.com
(Of course, when all models are available, I support your "no half-arsed" stance)
- Can you test Seven's v0.51 water and see if visuals are better and if there are any performance gains?
Quakeone.com
- Any plans for muzzle flash, in the future?
- What about BEEF34T3R's sky? (Moon[Drunk] & jeank skies combined)
Is it possible to find it somewhere? Can we get similar quality and effects on other skies as well, sometime in the future maybe?
Quakeone.com
Overall, it's pretty solid already, congrats.
I do hope you do support and update it still, and on regular interval. (And/or including new compiles, with better performance, too)
I'm bookmarking this page, to keep a lookout on any updates.
We had lengthy discussion with BMN here. It took more than a page of comments, it became confusing and outdated. So I've deleted it and summarised it in a few sentences below instead.
I am aware of everything posted on quakeone forums. It is possible to adjust HUD/MENU size now. There is some smoke/steam and sparks as muzzle flashes. There is modified version of linked water included, same performance. I prefer more faithful looking sky.
High polygon models are not available for all monsters and they differ in style and quality. I've decided to stick with quality and visual consistency of Quake Reforged skins. There are links to available remodels in the readme if someone wants to try them – just download and drop into Quake_HD\id1 folder.
BMN: Is there any way to use Kleshik without overriding contents from this pack?
You can remove some of the graphics replacement from Kleshik ( models and textures ).
There is no easy way to add other features and effects. They are part of “small mod compilation” by Seven from quakeone.com. They would have to be implemented in the qc code. Particle effects scripts are inside effectinfo.txt, there are source codes available for both kleshik and smc so it is possible to merge them, but I am not going to do it. It is rather up to Kleshik's author – Dresk. BTW Kleshik mod is great, thanks to Dresk for map name display that is borrowed from it ;)
Hi _Smith_,
I have downloaded your latest Version 1.25, and no surprise: It is just an incredible mod you released there! What I like on your releases is the easy way to get started. Download, dispatch, play.
But I regret to tell you that there is one specific problem I have with Mission E2M6. You remember the last elevator that goes down to the exit portal? I just stops on half way and nothing happens. I can not finish this level because of this.
I do not know if this is a vanilla bug or a mod problem. Could you please be so kind and help me out with this?
Best regards,
Uninstall
I've just played this level to completion without any issues.
Maybe kill yourself to restart level and try again.
If you've made save in this level with previous release and continued with new one, it may be the reason.
This pack contains extended version of this level released by John Romero.
So you may try to remove Q_e2m6_full_MH_OoPpEe_inkub0.pk3 file from id1\ folder.
Load save before this level and play vanilla version.
Otherwise I can't help since I can't replicate this.
