Having been sent back to Black Mesa, Gordon Freeman finds himself at the receiving end of an active Sector B teleportation laboratory. In the course of exploring the underground base once again, he finds that he is not the only one. The game is a work-in-progress and will continue with the next chapter in a few months.

I've uploaded the first public release of Provenance. Download it in the Downloads section. Be sure to click that 'read more' link to see the awesome people who've helped me complete this -- they definitely deserve it.

I've also uploaded the map sources for any developers who are interested in seeing how some things are done without having to use a decompiled mess. You can check that out here:

Have fun.

And check out my website for information on my first Left 4 Dead level, too! It's set in a mall!

Edit: I didn't really wanna mention it but this was made as a portfolio piece -- a quick run-through of various settings, a puzzle or two, a battle arena experience, and some cool ramp-up to an end. Don't take your black screens and lousy computer crashes too seriously. And yeah, the black screen at the end should have discontinued the game but game_end is broken. Whoops.

Doesn't work. Begins to start up, and then drops back to the desktop with the following error message from the Engine: "SetupArrayProps_R: array prop 'null' is at index zero." Is there a fix for this?

I played this mod and about half the textures were missing. It was like a page out of Checkerboard Hopes. To bad it seemed fun.

Dude one day you just have to fix this mod. It's a tragedy that such a work of art will never get to be played by so many people...

But at that point you're deleting the code which prevents things like the grunts from working properly. I guess I'll need to port the code over the the latest version? Ugh.

Yes please do so..

Please dude. Please do. I mean I played the mod up until the grunt section which I couldn't do because of the code for them being deleted in order to get the mod to run at all :(

I really like what I played and it would be awesome to finish playing this amazing piece of work.
