Prop Hunt for UT99!

Two teams, hunters versus hiders. Hunters need to persue hider players disguised as props though every miss with the hunter weapon is a health penalty, so make sure you shoot wisely! As hunters there is only one way to win the round - find and kill all the hiders before the round time is over.

Hiders have a couple ways to win a round
for their team, first is having at least one hider alive when the round is over and second is having the hunters all die by them missing their shots and being trigger happy.

Though, hiders have a disadvantage: when running, their health slowly reduces. Hiders must use their surroundings to blend into the environment and
avoid the hunters to stay alive!

At the end of every round, teams switch sides to take turns being hiders and hunters until a team reaches the score!

Stay hidden or die trying!

Prophunt UT99 has been on my mind for the last couple months. Being my first official mod, I shall finish it! There's a few things that I have given some thought about from my own ideas and from others.

  • Randomization of decoration prop models around the map
    • To prevent map memorization advantage, this will add way more replay-ability.
    • The randomization will take into consideration the available space around each prop location ( e.g. check that no trees are going to be popping through floors, roofs, etc )
  • Integrating a 3rd party decoration model/prop package
    • there's plenty of model packs out there with cool trees and other models. Feel free to let me on the UT99.org discord if you know a great one!
  • Adding more default maps to the package.
    • I really want to keep the mod very map-friendly by allowing any map to be played with the mod as long as the map has decoration and/or pickup locations to use to spawn the props.
    • Will keep my eyes open for some decently sized maps that will go great with Prophunt
  • More scoreboard statistics and match leader board
    • Similar to the one in UT_Siege, I want to implement a semi-leaderboard for the match that can show players that have remained hidden for longest amount of time, found the most hiders, has moved the least amount, and some others.
    • I want to keep track in seconds hide time for each player on the scoreboard. As long as a hider is alive, it will increment.

Stay tuned and feel free to send me a message on the discord or on here if you have any questions or suggestions.

Also! I added my source code to Github so if you're the techy-type, add issues and pull requests and I will look into them:

Hello there HandsomesShrek, thanks for checking out my mod. I've just shutdown the server because I'm setting up a new one for pickup-games, but feel free to add to your own server. I'm planning on making a new release sometime this year, hopefully before the summer, with a 3D model package with many, many more decorations and adding a randomizing factor at the beginning of the match.

Short answer: Yes!

Make sure that in your maps you make the placed decos movable, so that players can push boxes etc. into new positions, or people will just remember where things are by looking at the map in UEd, or by playing enough times.

Are you sticking with the original Unreal decos, or would you like another useful pack with common decos ?
The Silver Ibex Street decos, or the William Sherriff packs have a lot of natural stuff that have been used by other mappers.
Check the maps by Fragnbrag (especially DM-EpicTown).
