Project Revolution is a WarCraft3 : Frozen Throne Mod, that will turn StarCraft:BroodWar into 3D.

The Mod will stay true to the original StarCraft:Broodwar. No Races will be added, no heroes, no Units or skills. Just plain old SC. In 3D. Check out our screenshots to see what we've been working on.

Check out our site and drop a few lines on the forum or visit our IRC channel for a chat with the team if you like.
We're always scouting for talented artists and coders. If you think you can contribute to this project visit our site.

I have been trying for months to get this to work and have gotten nowhere. can anyone tell me why I can't install it?

Do you have the original StarCraft 1 disk? It can't be BroodWar. It Must be the original game before the expansion. You also need the disks for Reign of chaos, and Frozen Throne.

If none of that is doing you any good, it might be your Warcraft Patch version. Project revolution was made a long time ago, and the patches that have come out since, could have broken the mod, preventing it from installing.

I have all 4 disks, and have been trying with the original starcraft disk. but I keep getting an error message saying that the installer can't find the mpqs on the disk. but the disk never had an mpq. it uses the Install.exe file, which has to be converted to an mpq on the harddrive

I'm going to be completely honest, I don't know how to help you. I never had this problem when I installed the mod, and so far as I can tell, there's no real support for it at all.

Actually, the one thing I can think of, is that it might be your OS. If you are on windows 8, I have no idea if this would work at all. I have installed it just fine with windows XP, and Windows 7. I'm sorry I can't be of more help.

I AM on windows 8.
If only I knew how to draw my own units, or extract the ones from the mod, the I could just draw my own WC+SC maps map.

This Downloaded contains everything that was included in the original torrent that SnowFlake released. I have not done anything to it. The mod was incomplete at the time they released this, and it was in an early beta phase. I am not responsible for anything it does to you or your computer, or your game.

I am uploading this for anyone who wanted to see what so many of us had dreamed of, back when StarCraft II was just a rumor, and was still being beta tested. I, and many others, still play Brood War, and we had all hoped to see this mod to completion. The quality and time put into this mod, should not be forgotten, and I hope that anyone who downloads this will appreciate the work put into it, just as much as I do.

- The disks for Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos, and The Frozen Throne.

- An Original Starcraft Disk (This CAN NOT be the Brood War disk. IT must be the original game. If you don't have one, try going to your local Thrift store, and looking for a copy. Thats where I found the one I used.)

- A working computer, that is running Windows XP or later. (Sorry mac users, you'd better figure out how to use bootcamp.)

- A Disk Drive to read the disks.

PS: If anyone from SnowFlake reads this, I love you guys, and I hope all of you continue making awesome work like this.

Every so often I feel the need to come back to this project, and look through everything again. I have Brood War, and still play it on East. I even run a private network over the internet so that my friends and I can play it over a virtual LAN. I hope that someday a mod like this will be brought to SCII. I know there are a few in progress now actually. But in my eyes this project will never be forgotten. It still pains me, all these years later, to see it dead, and never have come to full fruition.
