Welcome to Project Reality: Battlefield 2 (aka PR:BF2), a free to download game modification for the Battlefield 2 (aka BF2) retail Windows PC game. The focus of this mod is to rework the original game engine developed by Digital Illusions of Sweden (Dice) within legal and feasible constraints to create a more realistic combat environment for the gaming community. This includes adjusting various game play elements including physics, visual effects and overall game play formats. Along with changes to how the game handles, the Project Reality team has been introducing British, Insurgent, IDF forces, Canadian, and Russian factions, plus a number of community assisted factions are currently in the works to introduce even more factions to the virtual battlefields. This Mod is not for the masses, due to the fact that it has a much higher learning curve then your classic arcade game. This is the real deal.

The Project Reality team comprises a group of dedicated individuals, several of whom have backgrounds in armed services and whose sole task is to provide researched material, including statistical information, to the developers. These are in turn tasked with coding and creating the mod itself. If you are looking for a fact based first person shooter from the perspective of a combat soldier, you need not look any further.

How can I By-pass the error "Battlefield 1.5 has not been installed"?

For some reason The installer is getting a wrong information, because I am very certain I updated my bf2 to 1.5.

If you are experiencing the installer requiring you to have BF2 v1.5 installed, please read this.

This issue occurs when your registry is not set up correctly. Common issues that cause this is copying/moving BF2 folders, registry cleaners, and system restores. As for copying/moving folders, you cannot just simply copy a folder to a new computer or a different location and expect it to work, there is an installer there for a reason...

Anyway, the fix if you are absolutely certain you have BF2 v1.5 installed:

Instructions for modifying your registry to be showing the BF2 installed version as 1.5:
If you are running a 32 bit operating system:
Download the file: Realitymodfiles.com
Extract and run the .reg file and press yes to merge the settings with your registry
If you are running a 64 bit operating system:
Download the file:
Realitymodfiles.com
Extract and run the .reg file and press yes to merge the settings with your registry

The BF2 engine on its edge... the BF2 gameplay reformed and finally promotes real teamwork. If you search for challenges in tactics and adrenaline boosted firefights this is the FPS game you search. For me it worths to buy BF2 (if you haven't yet) just to experience this mod. The extra content and the gameplay that is provided through Project Reality makes me to feel that PR is not a mod but a whole new game you can have for free. From Clan's experience perspective it is a must for every player…

Overrated! Not noob friendly. Great concept, terrible manual, tutorials, and controls. Half the time people don't even know what they're doing. Half the time you don't even know what you're doing. Pretty much follow a bunch of other people to get killed. The bots are excellent at shooting and killing you so it gives no room for even newbies to learn. The game is made so complex that it totally destroys the gameplay. Half the time you're running around in huge maps and when you finally make it somewhere…
