Welcome to Project Reality: Battlefield 2 (aka PR:BF2), a free to download game modification for the Battlefield 2 (aka BF2) retail Windows PC game. The focus of this mod is to rework the original game engine developed by Digital Illusions of Sweden (Dice) within legal and feasible constraints to create a more realistic combat environment for the gaming community. This includes adjusting various game play elements including physics, visual effects and overall game play formats. Along with changes to how the game handles, the Project Reality team has been introducing British, Insurgent, IDF forces, Canadian, and Russian factions, plus a number of community assisted factions are currently in the works to introduce even more factions to the virtual battlefields. This Mod is not for the masses, due to the fact that it has a much higher learning curve then your classic arcade game. This is the real deal.

The award winning Project Reality and Black Sand Studio teams are proud to announce the official release of Project Reality: BF2 Vietnam! This release is in the form of a single installer, and is a completely optional addon. However, due to many servers running the addon, we strongly recommend that everyone download and install it to avoid problems with servers running a mixed map rotation.

As announced last Sunday, we have gotten to the stage where we are ready to release the first version of Project Reality: BF2 Vietnam. While this release is still in beta form, we feel it is the right time to show the public the progress we have been making, and help serve as a platform for testing content in the public environment before it's inclusion in our next version, v1.0.
This release is in the form of a single installer, and is a completely optional addon. However, due to many servers running the addon, we strongly recommend that everyone download and install it to avoid problems with servers running a mixed map rotation. Project Reality: BF2 Vietnam Beta Features
While still in beta, the addon contains some impressive content. Of course, more content will come in the future, but for now, the following is including in this beta:
- 3 Factions, US Army, US Marine Corps and North Vietnamese Army
- 4 Maps, Battle of Ia Drang, Dien Duong, Barracuda and Tad Sae
- 20 new vehicles, including the A1H Plane, UH-1C Gunship and PBR Patrol Boat
- 14 new weapons, including the M20 Super-Bazooka, fully-automatic M14 and M79 grenade launcher
- Complex tunnel systems
- Fully functioning airplane dropped napalm
- And many more features!
Project Reality: BF2 Vietnam Beta Server Files
If you currently host a Project Reality game server, you would have received the server files for Project Reality: BF2 Vietnam via the Server Admin Control Panel in the last few hours. If you are interested in hosting a new server, please follow the link below to apply for a server license.
In conclusion, we hope that everyone enjoys Project Reality: BF2 Vietnam. Even though it is still in beta, we are confident that everyone can look past the slight amount of bugs that currently exist, and have an enjoyable time while fighting in the new environments. What the.. this came out of nowhere! I thought Vietnam wasn't going to be ready for ages. Oh well, a welcome surprise nonetheless.

Instead of "North Vietnamese Army", it would be more historical to put in "Vietminh" or "Vietcong".
or VC for short. In reality, most GIs refered them as "Gooks" so dont go political correctness on me cause thats the facts and you cant change history! John Waynes "The Green Berets" was politically critised for expressing the truth!
LOL. There's a difference between the VC and the NVA. VC were militia guerilla fighters and the NVA were regular soldiers of the peoples republic of Vietnam.
I hope I can hear actual clips of Good Morning Vietnam, that was a good movie and that would be sweet to listen to in a chopper :D
Each chopper has tracks 'weapons' for the pilot which play music. Also the main bases for the US have loudspeakers with radio broadcasts on them :)
