Welcome to Project Reality: Battlefield 2 (aka PR:BF2), a modification for the retail Battlefield 2 multi-player PC game. Project Reality's aim is to create a more realistic combat environment than standard Battlefield 2, and place a greater emphasis on teamwork and cooperation. Most of the aspects of Battlefield 2 that have the capacity to be modified have been tweaked, or completely overhauled, to reflect their real life counterparts, for increased realism. Ballistics have for example also been audited to reflect those of real weapons, including characteristics such as damage, deviation and bullet drop depending on a weapon systems calibre. Since EA and DICE no longer support Battlefield 2 and is no longer being played online, the Project Reality team made PR:BF2 a standalone game. No longer is a installation of Battlefield 2 required and we have implemented our own online account system for online play.

Is it just me, or does the rifle look a bit too long? The soldier doesn't seem to be able to get his eye right up to the SUSAT (that's the scope thing).

I agree. The barrel is too long but the gun is a bullpup so the scope should be further back. L85 is an amazing gun though.

If I were you I wouldn't advise pressing your eye right up against the scope. Recoil doesn't really care for your eye socket.

Besides which, scopes have an ideal eye distance. If you get too near or far from the ocular, it can obscure or blur the sight picture.

No the SA80 is much shorter then your average rifel M4 or M16 or what ever. This makes it idea for street fighting and building clearance. It is shorter because of the design the bolt housing is in the stock on the n16 it is infront of the trigger meaning that the but is unused space. So the barrel is much shorter making it less accurate. Al so u don't needs to have your eye close to the SUSAT or it is even harder to focus your eye to the sight =D

Actually, SA80 is the British name for the family of rifles, and the L85A2 is the version HK worked on.

Any rifle used by the British Army is given the L designation to signify that it is an Army Rifle. Rifles that are being tested or trial-ed are given an XL designation because they are not yet adopted into service. Any other weapon is just given the name that the manufacturer chooses to give it. Just as in the US Army we use the M or XM designation.

You guys are wrong, that model is pretty accurate, only reason it looks lon is the guard that replaces the hand guard, trust me, I've used it.

And yeah, u don't put ur eye right up to the susat, soldiers have tried, but end up with black eyes after the experience lol!

Also never ever ever.... put your eye directly to a scope, very "bad" things happen. The best trick to maintain a proper sight picture is to place your nose pointing towards and always in the same place, on an M-16 this would be the charging handle, your cheek should always rest on the stock also in order to further steady your aim. Everyone has a slight un-noticeable wobble to their head, brought on by the pulse running through the many veins in your neck. The weapons barrel is not at all to long, weapons with longer barrels usually have better accuracy, but sacrifice handling in CQC. Not sure what else to say...lol.

The barrel isn't too long. It's the AG36 40mm granade launcher, used with the german G36 rifle, so they leaved the original AG36/G36 handguard. the handguard of the sa80 is half as long.
