This mod tries to recreate Quake 2 using the GZDoom engine and mostly Doom 2 assets.

Well alright, not the entirety of Quake 2, but the demo of Quake 2. We'll see how far I'll manage in recreating Quake 2.

*** IMPORTANT NOTE ***

This mod now requires GZDoom (tested with GZDoom 3.2.5) and a full version DOOM2.WAD to run (for now). It uses assets from the Doom 2 WAD file.

Jumping and crouching is recommended.

The music is downloaded from Kindom Hearts Insider, unknown who made them.

Quake engine maps are very hard to translate into the Doom engine, since Quake engine can do rooms ontop of another room, but since development has been moved to GZDoomBuilder rooms above rooms can now be achieved... somewhat.
I've done my best to work around most of the quirks and limitations of the Doom engine.

This mod is available for public use, any and all can edit and use its content. Just remember to give credit to the original creators of the assets (sprites, images, music, levels, etc).

Development of the mod has been moved from 'Doom Builder 2' to the more feature rich 'GZDoom Builder', allowing lighting to be more complex if needed (more than just sector lighting), and most important of all; ROOMS ABOVE ROOMS!

No longer do I have to work with the limitation of only having one floor any more, now I can have sectors above other sectors... well, to a degree.

It works by injecting the information of a different sector into another, think of it as a Boolean operation... More or less.

More updates to come.

Not quite dead yet... The problem with 'free stuff' (like mods, etc) is they are worked on whenever there is spare time.

I tried this with "Another Quake II Mod" by TheCamaleonMaligno (Link: Forum.zdoom.org) and it's amazing. Hope you still work on it.

This is due to a rendering exploit found in GZDoom. Where the floor and ceiling texture will extend into infinity if wall textures are not defined.
I used this exploit to make windows. There are probably other methods of doing it, but that was one of the methods I found.

Ahh, I see. I would recommend using GZDoom for this mod (atleast for the time being).
