Project HDTP is a High Definition Texture Package for the original Deus Ex game. The original in-game textures were of a very low resolution, some textures even being as low as 32x32. However, it was discovered that it is possible to increase the resolution of those textures to a maximum of 256. This has been tested in-game and we have witnessed the start of a massive graphical overhaul.

1. All new remodelled and retextured Objects.

2. Objects will sport a high resolution of 256.

3. Brand new character models and matching high resolution skins.

4. Character models are more individual. For example each guard/trooper type will now have its own model instead of using the generic one.

5. Character models now have their own fingers (removing the 'mittens' effect).

6. Models that require animation will be full animated from scratch to compliment the higher quality feel.

7. Characters look darker and more moody to enhance the game play experience.

8. Vehicle models and weapons will be remodelled, skinned and reanimated.

Been awhile since I personally posted a news article so here it goes.

For those of you who do not keep up with the forums, our new modeler/texture artist _Alex_ has been banging out our character models. Almost at an impossible pace for me to comprehend.

Here they are:

Any comments or suggestions, post them on our forums. Of course you can also comment on here, but not everyone comes here.

This is my last news post until the new year, so have a safe and fun Christmas/December!

HDTP Beta's changes won't appear in the game if Human Renovation (or Shifter from which he imported the compatibility coding with the early HDTP release) is installed. Also it seems to crash when using Biomod & TNM.

new vision you can remove without save problems but hdtp has bigger .u files and if you change them back you get version mismatch error

I use this mod, New Visions, Direct3D9 renderer version 1.3, I am running windows xp and my pc is over the top for this game. My problem is after getting inside of our base on liberty island after completing the island mission...when I am walking down the tunnels to load into the next area the game continues to crash

Weird. Late last night, I thought that I made a post here on this Summary page. If so, it's disappeared (*cue Twilight Zone theme music*).

I love what I'm seeing here, in a MAJOR way. Deus Ex's weakest point, visually, has been the now low-poly models and low resolution textures. The hard work that's been poured into this mod to significantly increase the level of realism has paid off handsomely, no doubt, making this title even more immersive.

Are there any plans to incorporate iron sights, collometer and scoped views to the weaponry? Within the past year, there was a Deus Ex mod that achieved this remarkable feat (I believe it was a mod that was teasing the latest Deus Ex title). If "down the barrel" views could be also enabled with this mod, the sense of immersion would be nearly total.

Thank you for your efforts, and I look forward toward its eventual release.

Nice job guys. I was wondering if you are planning to add meshes for civilians later? Or are you finished after this? Also, the new jc mesh doesn't show up for me. Any quick fix to make it appear? Theres one more thing im gonna try yet and see if i can get it to work.

Did you use that special menu made by DDL? If not, go to Settings -> HDTP Options and work with it.
