Project Far Cry was started as complete remake of the original Far Cry game. The mod's best feature is not only a remake, but total reconstruction of all the levels, assets and story. Our goal is to make Far Cry on a new engine with the best graphics, quality physics and a good story. We are looking for the missing parts in the game or maybe holes in the story and trying to fix everything. Some time ago, our team has changed. Until the better times, the mod development is cancelled. Maybe I will release the CryEngine2 Demo, which has been announced a year ago.

At the moment the modification development has been frozen until CryEngine3 SDK will come.

At the moment the development of Project Far Cry mod has
been frozen until CryEngine3 SDK release. As CryEngine3 is backward
compatible to CryEngine2, we will easily port all our progress onto CE3
engine and continue the development on CryEngine3.

Until this we are still looking for experienced specialists to create the assets which will be ready to export into CE3:

  • 3d artists and modelers (ready 3d models will be stored until we export them into engine)
  • Riggers for 3d assets
  • Texturers and texture artists
  • 2d Concept artists
  • PR

So it may be standalone? That would be awesome.

I hope that Crytek would allow the standalone mod release versions with CE3 engine.

They are doing the exact same as Epic did with the UDK.

why are you stopping development?
if CE2 and CE3 are compatible you can still work on it because porting is easy then.

hm...what most crysis mods are doing, and it makes all the sense, but agreed with the top comment, you could still continue development.

I agree with you, but first I will need more resources. In my plans to create the pack of assets which will be ready to export to CryEngine3. And I agree that I will make economy on time if I work on it atm, but I need more team members in order to continue.
