It's true. 3 years and still no release - we're getting there though! Today: Caves and models. Also: Open vacancies.

Hello Folks! You gotta admit, it has been a loong time ;). However, here we are perhaps with a smaller update than you have expected. There are some things going on and most of the maps are in the measure and development phase. We don't want to show you any orange colored maps.

However we have some nice stuff for you ready, like those caves neahc made! There was that overpaint concept Talros made and neahc just pulled it off!

More CaveMore Cave

But that's not all! How about some weapon models?

A P 107 inspires by the p90, I'm sure you can see that, somehow. We're going to have much more of those weapons and go away from Real-Life models! Expect a sniper next.

But to ensure you'll not miss the best we will put some Real-Life weapons in like this g36

Both weapons are beeing animated as I write this news article! However, we also decided on a slightly new design for "The State" - you probably will recognize it somehow. This forklift will show you how it'll look!

And a last thing on new content are our new arms. Or better the new arm model. This is the final one. No more changes!

New arms

Right, last but not least, we have open vacancies. If you think you got what we need, contact neahc or me (stephan[.at.] or chris[.at.]

Texture Artists (2)
for creating new environment textures and skinning our models.
That includes weapons, the arms, props of every kind, vehicles etc

3D Animators (2)
For animating human bodies (they are ready to be animated no extra work required)
and for creating smaller to bigger cutscenes

Environment Modeler (1)
Please note: We already have 2 environment modeler, but we need more.
You will need to model new props for different settings, you should know about the dxf-to-mdl workflow.

Level Designer (2)
Again, we have Level Designers but we need more.
If you know how to design a level and how to work with the tools of the trade,
you're the right person for us!

Programmer (1)
This is also a position whrre you can team up with our coder pfannkuchen_gesicht.
You'r tasks will include but are not limited to coding the HUD (yes, what we want requires some custom code) creating custom AI behavior.

That's about it Folks!
I hope you enjoy our new update.
Stay tuned for more!

wow, looking at all the vacancies that you still have it seems that after 3 years the development of this mod is still not near the end of developing it. it does surprise me quit a bit, although i do know as no other how much work it is to make and release a large mod.

hopefully you will get all the people that you still are looking for, and, that this mod will not die a early death because you couldn't make what you had in mind. it is a common reason why mods die a early death.

It's not that we havn't had those positions filled at some point already.
It's more because people are leaving too quick.
By that I mean they come and join, brag about how awesome they are
and then leave again without having done anything.
It's not easy to find reliable people out there who actually
know how to work in a mod like this.
Apart from that, the only really needed position is the one of an animator
for humans etc. No-one wants it -.-

I'm tempted to help with the levels, but I'm a bit busy with some other projects, and my experience with Hammer is limited to TF2 maps and a few just-for-fun Portal maps.

I see the reason why this didn't see a release so far.
Godlike development just needs a lot of time, if done by humans

Great work so far, makes me want this mod way more than before!

i know all to well what you mean Damagefilter with;

"...they come and join, brag about how awesome they are
and then leave again without having done anything."

this is the main reason why i always work with only 2 other people, to many people want to join, probably just to be able to play whatever is made already and then leave again without having done anything themselves.

it's sad but most mods are made by just a few people who really are committed to the work, and want to put in all that time and effort that is needed to make something impressive.

success and keep up the good work!!
