Approximately one year has passed since the Marked One's story. You are the military Lieutenant Priboi Slipchenko, and you were sent into the Zone... There was a secret organization, called UHSF, and they were responsible for the incident. They had a base at Dead City but the mercenaries wiped them out in the late 80's. The organization fell apart, and the last living members disappeared until today. Somehow this story is connected to the Marked One's story, and you'll eventually find out how. Over 20 important classified documents were hidden in the zone and you will need to find them to complete the puzzle. You will need to be "Sherlock Holmes" and dig deeper in the zone then you have ever done before. This is a re-release of the popular Priboi Story modification released in later January

While Priboi Story is a closed project, still many people play it, and we often get mails, and pm-s about "I heard something about this Priboi stuff, but what is this exactly? Can you tell me more?" ... And to avoid writing long replies, this page will come in handy :)

So let's talk about Priboi Story a bit more:
Priboi Story is a new storyline total conversion addon for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Shadow Of Chernobyl. We love adventure games, where you need to think more than shoot, so we tried to approach stalker from this view. This style is not popular nowdays, or better to say not as popular as adrenaline shooters, so this addon is not for those who will be annoyed when they will need to find some document, and they just want shooting, nothing else. This does not mean, that you will be bored during gameplay, there are still nice fight scenes. We tried to make an unique addon, where we used more own features, than merged ones. It does not belong to the mainstream modpacks,  which makes Priboi an "underground" style game :)

 Basically in Priboi, you are a military special investigation unit, called Priboi Slipchenko, and the Military Defence at Kiev sends you to the Zone, to uncover some mistic organisation, and find a missing group which lost near Pripyat or NPP but exact location is unknown (thats why they are lost maybe?) and also find out what happened to the military chopper which supposed to save some ecologists near Radar. In this game, you will need to read and talk a lot. We added lots of dialogs, info to npc-s, and the more you explore the levels, the more you will be able to uncover the secrets of the uhsf organisation. We simply wanted to force the player to explore the levels more, because most of us just knows the shortest route on each level, which is not good, since we miss a lots of hidden potentials of the game. Uncovering the organisation can be done, with finding clues, and documentation about them, about their experiments and so on. This will requre you to use the PDA more, and read task descriptions, which you will get automatically from HQ, as soon as you finish the current one. While it seems a straight storyline, it has some overcomplicated parts, which we really like, but not much ppl can go thru them without a walkthrough. Mostly if you liked silent hill 1 or resident evil early series, where you need to find some document, read out some code, and find a door for it, then take some stuff from that place, which is the first part of a key or a code which leads you to some other areas, labs... then you will like this addon too. You will also need to investigate crash sites (eg. 2 military chopper crash site)

This mod also presented the first experience of "freeplay from start" which means, you don't need to follow the story, you can do anything you want to, you can rush to the NPP or just explore the zone, collect info, goodies and when you feel you are ready for the storyline, just need to talk to the commander, and he will trigger your quests. Also it has some alternative line, which activates if you kill too many teammates. Then you will turn into an outsider, a wanted guy, and you can only find hideout at the bandits.

  • new mainmenu with music which fits to the story

  • bunch of new documents hidden in the zone
  • new dialogs
  • old cutout stories reactivated
  • you can use anomaly to make traps
  • free play from start
  • you can return from npp anytime, no restriction
  • reactivated the climb-able chimney of first and second reactor block and some other ladders too
  • you can finally explore the full power plant, without restrictions, walk on the ground, do not use teleports, most if them is removed anyway :)
  • tweaked alife
  • tweaked weapon ballistic / accuracy / sounds
  • redesigned levels (needs more powerful pc though)
  • summer season introduced first time in stalker
  • the old inventory from old dreamstalker (for stalkerfans)
  • old beta-style hud (for stalker fans)
  • reworked hud weapon and other item positions
  • reworked old-style weather settings (to bring back old feelings)
  • more dark nights
  • several types of drinks ( more types of alcohol and even some water)
  • this was the second mod after amk which introduced sun (which somehow left out from stalker)
  • several type of food items restored (6 new type)
  • smoking added
  • restored harmonica with unique sounds
  • random blowouts with unique sound (which later was used in almost all blowout mods)
  • easy customizable features in ltx files
  • and falling down birds during blowout + new screen effectors
  • new night vision effectors with heat detection
  • shootable birds
  • more rpg elements
  • sleeping restored
  • tweaked damages (makes the game harder)
  • new textures
  • reworked pda map to fit summer season
  • tweaked economics
  • 22 new weapons (p90, mosin nagant, pkm... etc) (for complete list, check readme in priboi)
  • npcs are also using the new wpns, but it depends on their rank
  • removed flames from the reactor (because the story takes place 1 year after shoc story, and the wrecks wont burn forever, right?)
  • unique markers on the map (blowout hideout, your house, and others)
  • you have own house with own stash
  • many houses were decorated with physics objects (furnitures)
  • reworked pda (skin + features)
  • returned full encyclopedia with all entries and information for a well trained military officer
  • if you find a code or important note, it will go to your diary, so you will find things faster
  • 7 new drivable vehicles (lada vaz 2105 or autobus or army trunk? they are waiting for you)
  • scarier and more realistic thunders + thunder sounds from real stormchasers
  • underground levels will have scary ambient music from now
  • new monster parts (such as brain or heads of mutants) which you can collect
  • you can eat rodent meat, which you find randomly in corpses (not so healthy but better than nothing)
  • random warzone in bar (you will be notified about it)
  • some labs were too empty :) until now
  • many respawns tweaked to avoid emptyness (requested feature)
  • fixed the arena in bar
  • and many more little things which make the game better :)

Priboi project was started in 2007 June, and closed in 2009 February. The release of 1.0 was in 2008 February, and the last version (1.1) was released in 2008 August. We -the whole priboi team- thank you for your support during and after the development!

I need help with door codes ! Underground door codes. The first door code in SoC was 1243 and the second was 9254(I think ?) but they are changed now ????Do I still need to get past these doors ??? Thanks for your help. PS...These codes are found off the dead scientists in the inderground lab in the vanilla version . Thanks

of course they are changed, its a new story... you need to find them, but if you follow the story you will only be able to go down deep to x18 in the end of the game...
