Our second demo is finally released, so give it a try and give us some feedback.

It's been a hectic final month, first we recruited KernCore and then pushing for a new Demo/Minimod to be released on time.  Well finally after much work I am pleased to bring you our second Demo or what you could call a mod in itself I guess, Project-Alpha.

The goal of Project-Alpha was to get another playable demo out to everyone, while still having some original Portal gameplay.  We came to the conclusion that our second Demo should be a minimod in itself and be designed around the trailer version of Portal.  Rather than continue to explain what exactly is in Project-Alpha, I will show you a quick video made by one of our testers.

Thanks to DZJB for uploading this quick little video.

Here is our entrance Chamber for a better look.

Here is our spike pit, and yes we know people wanted the fire high but that would result in some issues.

Here is a redone chamber from the original Portal, but designed to resemble and play like the trailer.

Before I end this article, I know a lot of you are itching to play, I would like to thank the following people for their support.
Hunterbrute
Caboose Jr
reepblue
CaveJ
Pelpix
KernCore
Snood
1/4 Life
Hen7
Koolfox
Shadowfreak
Omnicoder
DZJB
A.M.M.D.

Once again thanks to anyone else who helped out in any small way, Ill leave you with one last image and then you can go and try our latest Demo.

Waste, instead of doing demos, why not try and make the mod?
Seriously you could of make PB and PA could of been a great DLC for PB.
Stop with those demos in my opinion.

best of luck.

Cool story bro, but PA is smaller so we decided to release it earlier than PB, PB is still being worked on. You also have no idea what you are talking about.

Demos are a good way on what we are doing well on and what needs more work. If we just had PB locked up, we would never found those bugs in the real mod from the PB demo we released in early 2009. Also Portal is boring without custom content now.

Exactly i completely agree with you. Mods/Games take a while and even though Demos do take time out of dev to make in the long run it can speed up production time and release with less bugs... keep up the good work PB

Well you have no more worries, we are done with all minimods and demos now, so all our work is now going for PB.

Hrm, yeah this is one of those guys who wanted the fire high

How about making the pit shallower instead? In the demo, the pit is two wall panels deep, how about making it just one panel deep. Would interfere with other parts in the game?

If nothing can be done about the floor pit's depth, then how about illuminating the pit walls entirely with orange light, and have orange light spilling out of the pit and being cast on the ceiling, so that at least the player perceives the fiery nature of the pit easily when he approaches it?

In the room that's a remake of the 'unsolvable puzzle'. With the arrow on the ceiling pointing to the hole, it looks like your intended solution is to throw the cube through the hole. But if you walk through the fizzler into the second part of the room and go all the way to the far wall, you're at just enough of an angle to shoot a portal onto the wall of the upper platform, which completely bypasses having to throw the cube, if that was your intention.

Not sure which was intended, just thought I'd put this out there.

I left this in in case people can't throw the cube in the hole. It took someone 10 mins to do it the inteneded way.

Nice find tho. :)

Just played it again, and I realized that the entire ceiling in the first part of the room is portalable. Maybe change that so only the little sliver of actual wall space I mentioned is usable so it's still a challenge for people who can't manage the throw? Assuming you're planing to keep that room, of course.

Very nice! I loved being able to play the levels that where in the trailer.
And by the way, this is what a demo should be. Proof of concept. No flashy models or weapons. Just a sample of what the mod is going to be. Great job.
