Project-Beta is a full content mod for Portal. This mod will include, new textures, new models, new particles, and a new story mode. There are 2 Possible endings to the mod. The rest of the information will be shown in progress screen shots and media releases. Description
SURPRISE DEMO RELEASED TODAY, HAVE FUN AND GIVE US SOME FEEDBACK! This demo is released for entertainment purposes only, nothing in it is the final product. We know about the CSS hand clipping, I just put the model in there for everyone to enjoy. You do not have permission to upload any of the contained files to any other website. The official release of Project-Beta will have new models, new textures, Bonus maps, and a complete campaign. Think of this demo as a Tech Demo for your enjoyment. Installs in your Steamapps/Sourcemods folder.

I found a bug too. But I didn't get the chance to capture it... :( Anyway, I was falling in a blue portal, holding a cube with the portalgun, and when I came out from the orange one, the cube floated away straight to a wall, then dropped on the floor. Strange :)
If you hold a cube and fall down with it, it disappears after a few portal pass through...
These are the demo maps, I know of these and have alerted reepblue which I believe he will be fixing them, or may have already done it in the full maps.
Oh and I know it was to short, i wanted it to be longer but reepblue wouldnt do it, so I guess we will have to make the full release even better.
Looked at them, a good chunk is only in the demo. The rest is easy stuff to do.
On a side-note to make the demo last longer, think of all the ways you can do Test Chamber 13. Its made to do it however you want and more solutions. I myself do it differently each time. :D
You seem kind of critical, I suppose if you don't report it, it might not be fixed in the final release, huh?

I was impressed with the portals, textures, and levels. I cannot wait for the rest of it!
I thought you said this was all stuff that was not going to be in the mod. The testchamber 13 has already been showcased for being in the mod. Just wondering.
The thing I was most impressed by was the fact that I could use my xbox 360 cotroller for the PC on it. I don't believe portal has that option so I tried it out and it worked! It's not perfect but it is a cool option ;)

It would be awesome if there was another mirror. I'm not getting it from File Front. Too many viruses and adware.
Well if it had Viruses, I doubt the demo will be here. :)
It is Virus and Ad ware Free.
I meant File Front has viruses. They pack them into some downloads after uploaded. Just please, get a ModDB mirror..?
Have good Anti Virus then if you dont trust them, also you know willfully infecting someone is Illegal.
I never heard that before, and I never had any trouble with FileFront adding Viruses to downloads...
Filefront hasn't any virus, in any download. That's because YOU have viruses and adware in the computer, and they pop up.
mine doesin't work...
1: Do you have Portal? If not, you can't play it. Cause the Mod is a Portal Mod
2: If you do, must have extracted the wrong folder. .
make sure the location is sourcemods/PB Demo
Then Restart Steam.

The demo was good, but it was very short. Good job; I'll be watching for future releases.

I like what I see :D A couple of testchambers felt a bit big and empty, and the player being held in place in the descending spikes room during GLaDOS' monologue was perhaps a bit on the annoying side; but otherwise this was a solid play :D
Just one glitch with the Portal frames on the extended wall segments; once I had the orange portal, I was able to place it off center and behind the frame.
These maps have already been updated thanks to the feedback that we had on the demo. Any bugs and problems you might have found are already fixed in Project-Beta. :)
