The hard work continues on 2.3. We've been spending a lot of our time trying to get this baby out the door.

Today I bring you some news on our new menu graphics and achievements.

We currently have 97 fully working achievements in the game, though we do have plans to add a few more. Here's a preview of 15 out of the 97:

As I said, this is only 15 of 97+ achievements expected to release with 2.3!

Next, we've got a preview of some of our new VGUI graphics.

New loading/menu background:

And finally, our new scoreboard:

If you have your wits about you, you may have noticed some interesting things in the screen shots. For example, the new loading screen features the territory map "Sandstorm". You may have also noticed the three territory icons in the third screen shot. Be sure to check in next time to see what that's all about!

I see that some of these achievements mentioned has references to pop-culture in their names. The only one we need now is "SONIC BOOM" Achievement caused by blowing up the eardrum of an enemy to close too the Keg but survived, and we are all set.

PVK II on Steam. That is what this mod deserves. The mod is so clever and at the same time easy to learn.

Have the developers and testers degraded so badly that there needs to be an achievement for getting killed by them? :P

Surely that is not much of an achievement, killing a developer is more of an achievement then getting owned by one imo.

Anyway, those are some good achievements, didn't see any kill x players with x weapon, only the parrot, but killing parrots with arrows is a lot trickier then killing a much larger person, so a worthy achievement!

Keep up the good work and I'm loving that new menu background!

There are currently in-game

"Ungrateful" - Kill a Dev/Tester
"Biting the Hand That Feeds" - Kill 10 Dev/Testers

If anyone has an idea for an icon to represent "Ungrateful" that's the only one we're missing.

How about simply an axe being wacked in your PVK2 forum avatar's face crazytalk? Or something like it.

How about a picture of a monkey with a sword being swung at it? The monkey would represent developers. Get it, code monkey? I think it's a good idea...

I think a middle finger would be good.

Or a big thumbs down over the letters PVK II.

Absolutely fantastic. Most professionally looking mod that I have ever seen. The new vgui looks great, my only complaint is that the characters in the selection screen are all T-posed. Might wanna change that since it looks rather odd.

Also, you guys have more acheivments then any other game on steam. (As far as I know.)

Can't wait for this one. MOTY!

Will the backgrounds change randomly, or can we manually set them? I do like the new one but the old one has some awesome appeal as well. Maybe make a themes menu where you can change them?
