Shiver me' timbers! Pirates of the Empire is currently Lockdown Interactive's first Source mod, the aim is to bring sea warfare to the next generation. Two teams of pirates battle it out over land and sea!

Character Artist...
You will need experience with modeling, texturing and animating character models for the source engine, we will require that these models are ready to place within the game. You will be given reference materials to work by and a certain sense of freedom with the concept/exact design of each character.
Environment Artist...
You will need experience with modeling, texturing and animating environment props. This ranges (but is not limited to) ships, static props, pick-ups, and more. Experience with compiling for the Source Engine is required, previous mod experience is recommended.
Hello again, another progression report follows, not much has changed but we felt an update was needed :)
CLASSES
We have added a new class to the list:
Engineer
This class is given the ability to fix ships/forts when damaged.
Weapons List for this class:
- Short Cutlass
- Flintlock Pistol
- Musket
- Repair Hammer
- Water Mine
In addition to this, Engineers can operate cannons at a faster rate.
Keep an eye out for updates!

is this pretty much pirates of the carribean for half life 2?
i get this from the new world, carribean pirates and tortuga i think is in the film
if so, i dont care, still looks good
I was reading some of your older news entries and saw hand grenades and water mines. I'm pretty sure they didn't have the technology to make water mines back then. As for grenades, I think they did have them, but they were very primitive. You know, gunpowder packed tightly into a iron casing perhaps, with a short length of rope or other flammable material stuck inside it... Not too sure...
I don't know if this mod is going for history or more about fun, but either way mines seem to have been around since the 14th century and where first planned/used in the West in the 16th/17th century. The first practical ones though where used in the American War of Independence. Your right about the grenade though, that's what they used at the time and that's what grenadiers used.
Well I just finished checking up the mine thing and you're right. I just hope they don't model the weaponry after modern equipment...
looks good but can you add a new HUD?
i dont really like the half life 2 one in or out of a mod
Steve,
While there aren't any shots up of it yet, I have completed the team/class selection menu and provided a shot of the working prototype to Skulburn. We're primarily waiting on at least a single player model before posting so the menu is complete in full rather than a gap currently where the player's model will show when their class is selected.
As for the HUD, I know Skulburn is working on concept shots that I can build off of so that and the scoreboard are next on my agenda once I work out some quirks with the HL2DM player class and team selections specific to our game :).
Ryan
