Persian Invasion comes complete with many new unit models, skins, and other textures. Plus complete unit info cards, expertly constructed by Lanjane.

Persian Invasion also features two fully playable campaigns, based around a vast campaign map:

The first focuses on Greek Hegemony, allowing you to play as any one of seven Greek City-States in a quest for dominance over all of Greece and beyond. Although you begin the campaign in a shaky alliance with your Greek neighbors, due to the Persian threat, it is only a matter of time before all hell breaks loose in a fierce fight for control.

The second campaign better simulates the main focal point of this modification; that being the Greco-Persian Wars. In this campaign the seven Greek City-States are fully united in defiance of the Persians, allowing you to muster soldiers from all the cities right from the start.

Not only can you play as Greeks and the mighty Persian Empire, but in both campaigns you can play as any of the following factions - Celts, Illyrians, Scythians, Dahae, India, Gerrha, and last, but not least, the Kingdom of Macedonia.

Macedonia is also a major highlight of the modification, because it is the only faction that can experience a military reform. This allows you to transform the small Macedonian state into a powerhouse, perhaps one that could even challenge the great Persian Empire!

The world is yours, take it!

Yes, it has been quite a while since this mod was started - over 4 years in fact. Over those years, since PI was started, it has been abandoned, brought back to life, changed it's look, been abandoned again, brought back to life, released as a beta version then abandoned, and finally resurrected one last time to be released in full!

Take a look here at some earlier instances of Persian Invasion:

PI would have probably remained in it's beta state if it hadn't been for a mysterious modder named Lanjane who suddenly showed up and completed all of the unit cards, and did some other tweaking to boot. The most lacking part of the beta was the absence of unit cards, and, as any player of Rome - Total War knows; they are a simple, yet completely fundamental part of the game.

Some of Lanjane's unit cards:

And so, I finally forced myself to delve back into the files and fasten together these pieces to complete the project that had been haunting me for so long -

You must be clicking on the .exe file inside the RTW folder. Look on your desktop for the RTW shortcut.

I download the mod and is great. But i noticed some mistakes. First of all the game crushes when i choice the custom battle and try to but a city on the map.
Second, none hoplite have plume. Back then plume was in fashion and many of them have it. Shouldn't advance hoplite have it? If i were you i would choice to wear to the light hoplites the greek helmet without the plume and all other hoplites with the plume. Especially the cities finest (athinian hoplites, spartan hoplites etc)
Thirt, the bronze armour was way too expensive for the people in that time. Exept from the spartans the other greek cities don't afort to buy an armour like that. Especially the athinians hoplites were not so good armored and their main armour was lino, the one light hoplites wear

To conclute the game is excellent. Especially map. It's the best mod found on itenret.

And i was wondering if you can explain me how to change the helmet and i will change it by my own :)

wow! i have been playing this mod and its really good but i have noticed a couple of nuisance glitches. one of which is that you hear bowstring twang sounds when slingers fire their missiles. its not a serious problem by any means but it always makes me go "whoa when did they get archers!?! oh wait nvm..." also, when i click on one of the indian settlements the game always crashes to desktop. other than that the mod is great! is this a problem with my install or are these known glitches?
