Perfected Doom 3 version 6.2.3 Patch

Perfected Doom 3 was started as a simple tweak mod years ago. After realizing that I was still not happy with Doom 3 after making some alterations to weapons and enemy stats I continued to add more to the game. Now Perfected Doom 3 is more then just a tweak mod. It attempts to completely overhaul the entire game with new monsters, rebalanced weapons, rebalanced monster stats, better graphics, new gameplay features and much more. It has been met with great appreciation and acclaim by it's users. This mod will bring many improvements to standard Doom 3.

The pumpshotgun no longer crashes the game when you press the secondary fire button while it's reloading. Both shotguns no longer have a reduced spread while aiming down the sights. This will help them to act more like shotguns 100% of the time. You will need the 6.0 and the 6.2 pak files in your mod filder for this patch to work.

This is the best complete overhaul I have seen by far. THanks! Makes playing it again like playing a new game. Love, love, love that you gave options for the DoF, bloom, film grain, etc. How did you do the depth of field, tracers, motion blur? Could you do the same with Quake 4?

Wow, just played this and with the patch it's pretty fine. That's how Doom 3 should've been even with the monsters tweaked to a better degree of realism. Graphics overall doesn't lag at all, and settings can be increased in small steps until you can play with a descent detail and filters without losing too much fps. Decals and blood all stays present as do monster corpses and the weapons are more realistic against the player aswell. I don't have a single complaint, just downloaded the mod with the updates (Note to people: You need to install the 6.2.0 update followed by the 6.2.3 and not the latter on top of the 6.0 version), and it will fix everything. Superb mod 9.9/10
Thank you.
omfg its here !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i love you vgames , in a non gay way , lols
btw got something planned for ROE ?, that would complete the pack
VGames,
great Update. Especially the extreme Textures!
Cheers
Freaking christ this is driving me flipping nuts.
Alright, so I COMPLETELY reïnstalled the game, with this mod, all the model and texture packs. For some reason, the game works fine.
Full settings, EVERYTHING.
No problem WHATSOEVER.
Step 2,
I go to the settings, game options, show fps to true, come back in game and BOOM, 5 fps max.
Tried this a couple of times, it's as if the SECOND you change something in options and press apply, the game keels over and dies.
I have no idea what the heck Doom is calling when it's trying to apply the settings, but there's SOMETHING lurking in the back there that disables itself on a restart but reënables itself the second you change a setting. Perhaps a menu item in the options that sets itself but isn't loaded in autoexec or the options file? Who knows, I can't tell you. But right now I'm having a stable 35 FPS at extremely stressfull moments (Hell encounters) while others I have no problems (Icon of Sin with ~65.) Insane right?!
Thank god for Com_fps 1
I don't know what's up with your settings. My settings don't change like that.
I'm 100% that this mod uses Sikkmod 1.2 because I put it all in there. I've been keep PD3 updated with the latest stuff from Sikkmod. When you ran Sikkmod with all the same settings as PD3 were you using any of the parallax shader sets? Because PD3 uses relief mapping which is a form of parallax mapping. On top of that I have self shadowing turned on for everything. Not sure if Sikkpin did that for his mod. He may have. I'm not sure what's up with your set up.
Alright, after 4 days of mucking about and trying to get this to run, trying every possible combination of files, even porting all of it to sikkmod AND BACK, I still can't get perfectmod to run above a slideshow speed of 5 fps on neither my PC nor my laptop (which I once played this on a year or more ago perfectly fine)
In the mean time, I have no trouble with sikkmod including all of the additional programs, settings, models, textures, overlays, shaders etc. that this mod has to offer AND MORE(aside from all the extras in gameplay ofcourse), so I'm pretty much stumped. File comparison shows that most of it is identical to 1.2 after some long and extensive research on my end, aside from all the stuff that was added that didn't come from sikkmod itself. So the problems must originate from there.
I guess I'll just have to skip this untill it's properly checked out.
When inspecting the working files of the Sikkmod 1.2 graphical engine, not only did NONE of the time stamps match (some being MONTHS older than the working parts of Sikkmod's 1.2 release time stamp), the checksums, nor the codes matched eachother, dating back with some even before the 1.1 version.
Clearly, The version added is not 1.2
I stand corrected. After revisiting the files and checking them all individually, (most) of them matched the 1.2 version. However, how the files act completely differently than Sikkmods (such as the HDR shaders failing completely in PD6.2.2) is beyond me. I will further conduct experiments with the load order and so on and so forth.
- Addition 2
That, and Soft shadows (and all the other features on Sikkmod 1.2 that fail to function in Perfect Doom) still keep my FPS far above 50 at all times.
