Perfected Doom 3 was started as a simple tweak mod years ago. After realizing that I was still not happy with Doom 3 after making some alterations to weapons and enemy stats I continued to add more to the game. Now Perfected Doom 3 is more then just a tweak mod. It attempts to completely overhaul the entire game with new monsters, rebalanced weapons, rebalanced monster stats, better graphics, new gameplay features and much more. It has been met with great appreciation and acclaim by it's users. This mod will bring many improvements to standard Doom 3.
PD3 version 6.2.1 Patch released
I have uploaded a patch to correct some bugs brought on by the code in the 6.2 patch that caused the game to crash. A few other changes were also made to make the shotguns more useful when aiming down the sights.

The pumpshotgun no longer crashes the game when you press the secondary fire button while it's reloading. Both shotguns no longer have a reduced spread while aiming down the sights. This will help them to act more like shotguns 100% of the time. You will need the 6.0 and the 6.2 pak files in your mod filder for this patch to work.

Desura does not update to this patch automatically. It installs Perfected Doom 3 6.1.5 by default.
I don't know how Desura works. I never use it. You're probably better off installing this mod manually after downloading it from ModDB. It's really easy. There have been leaps and bounds since version 6.1.5.
thanks for the update! could you please elaborate on which effects were improved/changed fromn the latest 5 version? it's just that with perfected 5 my game ran great, all 6 versions barely give me 20 fps no matter how i toggle the effects
I've noticed something weird. Repeatedly switching from single pistol to double pistol causes me to lose my ammo every switch.
So, i've never actually played much of the game, Got spooked my first time through XD Would it be bad to install this mod for my first playthrough?
