Long ago, when the word 'Hiigara' rang only as a hollow dream, the kiith of Kharak never imagined they would walk the Path to Victory. But, when they reclaimed their Homeworld and proclaimed themselves 'Hiigaran', they believed they had reached their goal. How wrong they were. 150 years after Hiigaran landfall, conflict rages across the Galaxy... Path to Victory is a multiplayer and skirmish mod for Homeworld 2 that adds new units to both Vaygr and Hiigaran Races as well as enabling the Keepers, Raiders and Kadeshi as playable races.

if it shoots backwards, you think this can double as a minelayer?

Nope - there will be a different 'mine' system for the raiders called traps. They won't employ mines the way the other races do - mostly due to HW2's inflexibility with mines.

traps yes - mines no. There will be traps like: HS inhibitor, EMP trap, electronics scrambler - maybe some more.

Ok sorry, but you know, the way you said it(mines, traps, different deployment) it sounded absolutelly exactly like Vaygr Minetraps.

I didn't even think of your mine traps tbh. I was thinking of guys in the outback with bear traps.

Never really wanted mines for the raiders, just ways to disable the enemy without using ships i.e. traps. Sounds like a raider thing.

Sorry if I offended you. As you know, I would not steal any of your work! I may be many bad things but one I try painstakingly to avoid is being dishonest.

Please I didn't mean more than I said, really. Yes, I know I'm always insane about things like this, but I just ...asked.

It's ok ;)

I was just trying to avoid a messy argument caused by me choosing an odd combination of words.

Question:: do the canister bombs move towards the target or do they just sit in space???

they move, that makes the bombers pretty strong since they can fire from every direcion on their target

Nice background, by the way. I know it's kind of the point, but everywhere except the purple cloud opening is just a tiny bit too blank I think. There could at least be a handful of stars that are hidden in the clouds, but are shining through with a variety of strength. The coulds would diffuse them, and some would just look like blury purple spots in the inky blackness, but I think it would add some definition.

Are there special asteroids in this map too? I can just imagine black asteroids with eerily glowing purple veins in them.

Yeah, kinda... but with fewer visible stars, and the nebulae much darker, less internally lighted.

I will finish the background as soon as I got myself a new pc.
Just wrecked my motherboard.

Description

Today you get to look at two more fighters for the Raiders: The Fencer Missile Interceptor and the Thug Bomber.

The Fencer is an agile fighter build on the Bandit chassis and armed with two missile tubes. Not exactly designed for long lasting fights the Fencer has however proven an adept weapon at destroying enemy corvettes and individual fighters.

Unlike most Raider pilots, Fencer pilots pride themselves with their accuracy and precision flying skills. They actually have a respectable hit ratio and tend to be among the deadliest flyboys the Raiders can drum together (they also get paid an additional keg of Meed for their 'services').

The Thug on the other hand is quite the opposite. Lumbering, ungainly and generally ugly, the Thug carries two canister racks stacked full of canister bombs.

Released in much the same way as contemporary depth charges, Thug squadrons can pound enemy capital ships with a seemingly endless barrage of bombs.

While not poweful as an individual fighter, Thugs can weaken larger ships which allows frigates or capital ships to deal with them faster. Just don't expect anything creative from these fighters. They're barely held in a running condition to begin with!
