Long ago, when the word 'Hiigara' rang only as a hollow dream, the kiith of Kharak never imagined they would walk the Path to Victory. But, when they reclaimed their Homeworld and proclaimed themselves 'Hiigaran', they believed they had reached their goal. How wrong they were. 150 years after Hiigaran landfall, conflict rages across the Galaxy... Path to Victory is a multiplayer and skirmish mod for Homeworld 2 that adds new units to both Vaygr and Hiigaran Races as well as enabling the Keepers, Raiders and Kadeshi as playable races.

go hiigarans go!
I think that they have received a lot o credits for kicking some vaygr ***** in the 2nd HW war...trey must have a huge empire 50 years after that war,an I right?
and they have luck to don't have an crazy and evil emperor in the command, like palpatine(or darth sidius),they have sajet, who is for more beautiful(sexy) than any other emperor.

I would argue whether or not Karen is even alive at this point, whether or not she is in any position in the government, and even what kind of government Hiigara has!

well,in the introduction they say that karan is their leader("...and it's she that will lead then again...",in the official map it's an empire,so we can conclude that she is the emperor of the great hiigaran empire...I think.

Empress technically and to be honest I haven't given it much thought. She has quite some standing in the military and is definitly still alive but what role exactly she has is unclear at the moment.

Still part of the Hiigaran High Command. Basically the highest military instance there is in things regardign the defense of hiigara. No direct influence on colonies but in command of the Hiigaran Defense Fleet.

Yeah, I don't think Karen's the actual empress, given that it would seem kind of foolhardy to send your boss out on missions.

Definitely high up on the military chain of command though and by the end of Homeworld 2, likely considered a religious figure.

Anyways I like the story posted on the side.

I think the Vaygr are a neglected race. i remember when i first played HW2 everyone just played as hiigarans. Im expecting some serious balancing from this...

Oh you'll have motivation enough when the beta comes out. We have quite a few changes in store to mix things up gameplay wise.

Description

150 years ago our ancestors left kharak with a dream. That dream was to reclaim their homeworld and that dream has come true! With the galaxy shattered and the great powers of the last century scattered across the void, we stand alone as one. We, citizens of the last free emprire. Citizens of Hiigara.

It was not the mercy of the council that brought us to this fate. It was not the strength of our allies. No, it was the sweat and blood of our ancestors! Today I ask nothing but what they would of you: I ask for your courage. I ask that you stand and do that which no one else will do. I ask that you give your lives for that which is dearest to us all. Our homeworld. Hiigara.

The Greater Hiigaran Empire is capable of fielding a mighty war machine which has proven its worth time and time again. These days however hiigaran ships are crewed not by veterans of the old wars but by fresh recruits and conscripts fighting for the very survival of their young empire, risking their lives in the cold of space for a homeworld they may not come home to see.

This fleet is supported by a number of modern weapons systems which can broadly be classified into the following categories: Precision, Guided and Area of Effect.

Path to Victory Beta aims to emphasise these weapon categories a lot more. You will be offered the chance to upgrade ships weapons based on their main armament allowing your fleet to excell at dealing with one particular kind of threat.

This makes the Hiigaran Imperial Navy one of the most flexible fleets, capable of adapting to virtually any enemy. However this flexibility comes at a cost. The hiigaran fleet is generally short on vessels and crew meaning you will often rely on certain key ships to win a battle.

With only a limited number of ships available, choosing the ships you intend to field wisely is key to success. The right ship in the right situation can mean the difference between defeat and victory - even against a vastly superior foe.
