When the Hiigarans require some great space installation built, it is often Kiith Nabaal you turn to these days. Experts at manufacturing and maintaining excellent quality, one thing the Nabaali are not known for is their combat skills. Often selling their technology to others in return for funding, Kiith Nabaal can supply any Hiigaran Combat-oriented Kiith with a number of technologies they would not otherwise be able to bring onto the field.
From advanced manufacturing techniques to their massive shipyards, Kiith Nabaal is the go-to point for industrial scale production. However years of constructing vessels in the deep of the void has taught the Nabali to be protective of their installations. It would not be the first time a greedy Turanic Raider captain attempted to raid a Nabaal Shipyard.
In order to better secure such large voidborn production vessels, Kiith Nabaal often turns to platforms - such as the newly redesigned Heavy Platform.
Protected by unusually thick armor and carrying destroyer-class guns, this mobile defensive installation can provide the ideal defense against most threats - provided they don't move too fast.
Like all other platforms the Heavy Platform is quite slow and cumbersome. However when used in a defensive posture, this is barely a consideration.
But the best thing about the Heavy Platform is not its performance - but rather the versatility offered by a relatively cheap voidframe. Not requiring the advanced nav systems, engines and other internals most spaceships require, these platforms can be produced both quickly and at minimal cost - just the kind of thing an economically motivade Kiith like Nabaal would invest in...
